  1. If the SEC is not the best conference in the country, then who is?
  2. Specifically, no SEC team has given up fewer than 24 points yet in a bowl. And as I'm sure the B1G fans on this board will also note, two of the league's best teams aren't playing in bowls, which created some mismatches with SEC foes. The mismatches were offset by Wisconsin getting the Rose Bowl bid. If OSU were eligible it would have been in the Rose and UW would have been further down (NW's spot?). UM against SC wasn't a mismatch. PSU is, at best, the 3rd or 4th best team and I don't know that they would have a better chance against SC. Nebraska would have gotten UGA even if all big ten teams were eligible. So there were no mismatches with SEC teams. If they were eligible, there's a great chance an undefeated OSU team is playing ND for the title. Doubt it, OSU only went undefeated in a mediocre conference. If they were in the SEC, they'd have probably 2 losses. Then again, the voters can be idiots sometimes so who knows.
  3. Even using raw stats this isn't true. Luck is a rookie. The stats are very close to even and Luck has got his team in the playoffs in year one. If every GM in the NFL was offered the choice of Luck or Bradford, how many would choose Luck? And how many seconds would it take them to make that decision? Who the [expletive] cares? Luck is an average quarterback and he doesn't posses some gene that allows him to play better in certain situations. Well, I guess we disagree. It's probably not genetic, but I do think Luck is a winner. This isn't baseball...I think the QB being "a winner" actually does have an impact on team play. Do you seriously believe that crap?
  4. In order for this to be a ballgame, the Bears are gonna need a non-offensive TD.
  5. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/8623486/chicago-bears-expected-re-sign-josh-mccown-source
  6. My wife doesn't follow football nearly as much as I do, and she was asking me earlier in the evening yesterday how many black QB's there were in the league now. I started naming some, but I actually wasn't even sure if Freeman was still QB in TB for sure until the game started. Newton, Freeman, Vick, RGIII, Wilson (?)
  7. It's looking more and more like the replacement refs will cost the Packers the division.
  8. Entire city of Chicago on suicide watch right now
  9. C'mon Lions. You might want to cover #15.
  10. This is just what's so frustrating about analysts talking about this play. They all agree it's the rule and then nod in agreement to the call. Ok fine, but not a single one of them is questioning why the rule is there to begin with, or wondering what the spirit of the rule is. Did the competition committee have situations such as the end of the Saints/Bucs game in mind when they created the rule? Was the rule created too generally, and now it's affecting situations that they didn't intend?
  11. This is what having a competent draft does to teams.
  12. Duke is bowl eligible!
  13. the acc is terrible
  14. You are a football nut.
  15. LOL @QuincyPondexter The real refs swag are gonna be outta control when they get back.. They prob wanna fly private now, roll around the field on Segway's
  16. Cause OT is "sudden death" when a TD is scored, so the game ends immediately.
  17. If that is true, that is unbelievable. So poorly communicated peer pressure lost the Packers the game??
  18. It was not simultaneous possession. One hand on a ball being held by two hands by the opposing team is not simultaneous possession.
  19. Does Wilson have a man crush on Golden Tate or something?
  20. Man, Green Bay should have taken that extra point to make it 13-7, then an intentional safety right now would be so valuable.
  21. Packers got screwed twice on this drive ... the INT wiped out by a bogus roughing the passer penalty, and that bogus pass interference.
  22. yathink? there is the equalizer yep, no more talk about the refs now ... it's even.
  23. FIRST DOWN!
