  1. Way to go Jacque! Who had him to break the no no?
  2. Man, even Orlando Hudson looks like a giant next to Fontenot.
  3. Says the guy with the LSU avatar. But, I don't think it would be a bad call. He may walk.
  4. Is Lincecum going for the Giants tonight against the Brewers or does he go tomorrow? Lowry tonight, Lincecum on Saturday and Zito on Sunday. I wish Cain was in that rotation against them. Why? The Giants lose every game he starts. The Giants lose a lot of games this year. So, as of now Cain is their best pitcher. But, he does walk a few too many people.
  5. This is going to be one fast game, assuming that one of these teams can score one run.

  8. I love that poster! But what's it for? For what purpose does Ken Harrelson want us? Not sure. But, in 1983 or maybe '84 these posters were all over the city of Chicago. They were posted on light poles, newstands & in places like 7-11. But, I really can't remember the promotion.
  9. That would have been a cool picture to take....with the construction workers hoisting the American Flag & Cubs flag as Wayne and his wife sing the national anthem.
  10. I'm sure Duncan would love to work with Homer Bailey. Plus, it's not too bad having a staff with Harang.
  11. I hope I'm wrong, but I fear the Cubs getting swept in this series. The D'backs might be young and not hitting, but the Cubs just do not play Arizona well from year to year. On a good note, they do play them better at Wrigley versus playing in Arizona.
  12. Jamie Moyer was going to be my guess, but I wasn't sure he even won ten.
  13. I haven't heard his name in a long time. He lived a few blocks from my parents' house.
  14. I gotta hand it to him, that's a nicely sarcastic comment. I'd like to know who "they" are, and when "they" said it, and "where". He creates lies just to BE an egotistic moron. Who's stupid enough to throw one back anyway? It can net you a brand new car, maybe 2 brand new cars, plus tax, plus insurance for 2 years. You're just looking for reasons to hate Barry. In case you weren't aware, Cubs fans in the bleachers yell at the opposing players all game talking to them, etc. I'm willing to bet my car that he was pestered like any other player  Well, even if the fans in the left field bleachers were heckling him and said they'd throw it back, he has to be pretty stupid if he didn't realize his homeruns were hit to right field and center field...not where those fans would have been. He probably was just making it up. I just thought it was an interesting, sort of funny comment. I'm still not recognizing Bonds' faux home run title. Not ever. I don't believe it either...just sayin for the post above mine. In fairness, he was joking. He laughed and he was actually being playful with the media. I don't know if they're showing it on ESPN, but locally Comcast Sports played it a few times this afternoon. He even made complimentary comments about Chicago and the fans immediately after that comment.
  15. That's good enough to get him up to the #2 3B in the system for July (or overall for that matter). What's the outlook for Scott Moore? Can he play anywhere other then third base? I'm assuming he is better then just a backup to Ramirez based on his numbers?
  16. Nate Silver of BP wrote this article on the effectiveness of Colleti as Dodger GM and grades his overall tenure thus far. Anyways, he wraps up the article using Hendry as a comparison to Colletti. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=6474
  17. I checked...prices were still over $300 for a round-trip. I may drive it. The wife and I will have to have a "discussion." How do you normally get to Chicago? 2000 miles? Is that combined with your various trips each year - non stop? Or does it include connections?
  18. Don't congratulate me just yet. I have a feeling bunches were selected as they are holding auditions over two days. Second, the chances of the wife letting me make the trip all the way from Louisiana don't look good. Do you have the essay you wrote and would you be willing to let us read it? Oh, and if you can't go can you have some go as your replacement pretending to be you? If so, I nominate Yeti.
  19. I'm not so sure with Jeff Clement still in AAA.
