  1. If this is a possibility, does that mean that the Phillies resign Rowand?
  2. Here's a post I've been disputing fron a White Sox fan on another forum:
  3. For us they put CSN+ over the local channel that they show university news and such on. Check those kind of channels for it. Through my cable provider (Comcast) CLTV becomes CSN+.
  4. When you've got GMs like Hendry and Krivskey involved, it might. Our GM just said last week that he'd look to see how the offense does the upcoming week to see if we need to add a bat or not. I wouldn't put it past Hendry to bring up Murton to showcase him for a couple days. Perhaps I should start a don't trade Murt to the Reds campaign. If it's for Griffey then your campaign would be foolish. Fixed, Dunn K's way too much and has godawful defense for a .300 hitter which Murton is anyway. Last I heard Murt's defense is growing strong. He still has an OBP of .371 this year.
  5. Richar http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?n=Danny%20Richar&pos=2B&sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=462950 I'm still questioniong the Richar trade. He has good numbers and all, but I think it might come back to bite them.
  6. Ryan Braun vs. crappy lefty = 3+ homeruns tonight. Great! Now Braun is going to go on a tear.
  7. I was under the impression he was doing much worse than he actually is so far this year. yeah his batting average has been lower, but that's because his BABIP is .300 (as opposed to .338 and .325 the last two years). His walk rate is actually up, though is power is down a bit. His LD% is still solid (20%) so he's probably just been a little unlucky. He's actually pretty good, and the White Sox gave him away for next to nothing. I just don't understand what Kenny Williams is trying to do here. Beyond the fact that he could have gotten more for Iguchi, why a single A middle reliever? My only thinking is that he is so angry/distraught about the current White Sox bullpen that he is just going to stock pile reliever after reliever to try and ensure that the current situation does not happen again in the future. That's the best I can come up with.
  8. ...a reliever in Low A. Say what? I was wondering the same thing. I would have thought they could get a bit more for Iguchi. Phillies did a good job here, in my opinion. They get a solid second baseman to fill in at second base this season. Although his numbers are down a bit this year. Iguchi is a free agent at season's end, so they can let him walk. And they didn't give up much (so it seems).
  9. The fact Soto was sent down in favor of Hill is a clue. Teams value Hill or atleast the D'backs did and the Cubs do. This has probably already been mentioned somewhere, but the D'backs protected Koyie Hill keeping him on the 40 man roster a couple of years back. The story I heard was they were debating whether to not have Hill or Dan Uggla as the 40th man protected. The D'backs decided to protect Hill and the Marlins selected Uggla.
  10. Decided not to trade is typically code for waiting for the last minute offers to fly in just before the deadline. Cincy without any major moves is destined to maintain their level of mediocrity. I think Cinci is slowly becoming the worst run team in baseball. Pirates get contracted? I think that would definitely go to the Pirates. At least Cincinnatti has what appears to be a bright future. Bailey Votto Bruce Along with Harang, Phillips & if Josh Hamilton can continue the way he played this year. Granted Krivsky will probably mess it up in some way.
  11. I can see this becoming a very poppular thread. I can't believe that they would be relegated to simply releasing him. Worse comes to worst even if a team does not want him to touch the field defensively, he can provide a solid bat off the bench in a pinch hitting situation. Maybe the Padres could use him. The Padres defintely came out on top in the Chris Young/Adrian Gonzalez trade. Maybe they can go back to the well.
  12. I don't think the D'backs would even consider giving up arguable the top minor league prospect for a rental of Dunn. If I recall correctly, I believe I read that the D'backs are even against trading Chris Young. Although I can't remember where I read/heard that. But, they might be able to get Carlos Quentin and a good pitching prospect.....someone along the lines of Greg Smith (LHP). With Harang, Bailey & Arroyo they probably could use a left hander and someone like Smith might be able to crack the rotation next season.
  13. So I found this card and obviously they made a mistake because that is not Chris Robinson. Could it possibly be Soto before he lost some weight? http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j163/Niner74/Baseball%20Cards/ChrisRobinsonError.jpg
  14. Kroeger and Pie both injury related according to their manager.
  15. Well, that was far from enlightening. But, good try and maybe they''ll have someone check on it.
  16. I don't listen to him all that often on the Score, but I did happen to listen to a little bit on Tuesday. Anyways, a caller asked him what team he roots for and he answered that he roots for both the Cubs and the Sox. He mentioned how he loves Chicago considers it home and he would like to see Chicago win (Northside or Southside). It very well could have been an answer that would appeal to the masses (i.e. Score listeners). But, then again maybe he normally answers questions like those candidly (I don't really know since I rarely listen to him). Take it for what it's worth. I just figured I throw it out there.
  17. Sorry if this is posted somewhere else. Bonds reaction to Costas Now/Bob Costas............... http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/2007/07/bonds-blasts-co.html Costas responds........... http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7063342
  18. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/2007/07/another-white-s.html If is is possible that the Mariners would give up Balentien for Garland, I think the Sox should do it.
  19. Interesting to see if Stone can meet Hawk's broadcasting prowess.
  20. Why has Randy Well's future taken a turn? Arm injury? http://milb.scout.com/ I don't subscribe, so I'm unable to find out.
  21. Wise hit Lopez in the face....mouth/nose area. Blood was pouring out of his mouth. Edit: Blood from mouth or nose.....hard to tell.
  22. He's been less than his usual self this year, he's a potential free agent, and they have had several relievers performing as well or better to pick up slack from trading him. Will he qualify as a type A or type B free agent if he walks? And what are the actual guidlines that seperate the two?
  23. He is a big prospect of theirs, but I believe he's struggled a bit since moving up to AA a couple of months ago. But, he still young. I think he is only 19 or 20.
  24. Salty would be great. But, I think Jeff Clement from Seattle could be had at a cheaper price since he is blocked by Johjima. He will be relegated to DH and Seattle can always find a slugging DH. Make Seattle an offer and see what they're asking.
