  1. They should move to Virginia and then they could actually be the VAGiants.
  2. There shouldn't be. He's been our best player for 3 years. Best position player. I'd argue Big Z as the best Cubs player though during that time period. Zambrano wasn't acquired via a trade though was he? He was aquired from Venezuela for an 8 ball. That's also how we got Sammy from the Rangers when Dubya was owner. Sosa was acquired from the White Sox, The White Sox acquired him from Texas.
  3. If the Cubs make him work a lot in LF today, I believe he may be sitting tomorrow.
  4. I think Lou is still going to go with Kendall.
  5. That would not be good with Arizona coming in to play. How do the Cubs do against the D'Backs in Chicago. Because they can't win for the life of them in Arizona. I'm venturing a guess of about .500 in Chicago against the D'backs over the last few years. arizona isn't good either... they've been crapping the bed lately, and their pythagorean W-L is 7 games below .500. We should take at least two of those games. I agree. But, they have some young prospects who are bound to break out. They have way too much talent to produce the numbers that they have been producing. So in that regard they scare me. Plus, it just seems the Cubs do not play the D'backs well. Atleast not in Arizona, so I guess it might be alright in Chicago.

  7. 10+ today means little scoring tomorrow. Just a hunch.
  8. Steve Kline rarely utters a sentence that doesn't have the f bomb in it.
  9. When is Scott Sanderson bobble head day? Heck, the Pirates had Bob Walk bobble head day.
  10. Even though he pitched yesterday, I wouldn't mind seeing Wuertz get some more work (just an inning) in a non pressure situation. He just hasn;t looked great to start the second half. It might help him out a bit.
  11. Well, supposedly they are now going to focus on their farm system and drop the veteran player mentality. With pitchers like Lincecum, Cain and Lowry and proper scouting they should be headed in the right direction.
  12. The Giants... We'll talk Cain off their hands...and Lincecum, if they ask nicely. Heck, throw Lowry in that mix.
  13. It seems to work out that way a lot this year.
  14. Was he the one who broke the Moises urine story? I think it was Jon Miller. Gary Miller Oh, the irony.
  15. A few quotes from Bonds yesterday (7/17/07). http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-070717bonds,1,6641182.story?coll=cs-home-headlines
  16. I think it's fair to directly compare Kendall and Aramis. Both are former Pirates. Both are right-handed hitters. This is never going to end is it?
  17. I've never really have been one to bad mouth Bonds. I've always kept my mouth shut in regards to him. But, that was just a smug response to the reporters in regards to the Cubs' fans.
  18. Revoke his "Cajun Connection" status. Bring back Todd Walker.
  19. Kendall can't catch a pop-up. Cubs keep walking free swingers. WTH? He's being facetious.
