    I wonder if they will hold on to Eyre until the trade deadline and look to move him then? Combo him with some prospects and you could get a good 2-3 starter.

    Definitely the better place for him IMO. Plus fastball, and a good breaking pitch can get you a loooong ways as an 8th inning setup man.

    Drew at 11/year for four years, if he isn't cleared by the Red Sox, looks very good to me! I'd love 130 games started with him in center and 32 more with Felix Pie. Those numbers may double the nearly 9 million dollars/year output that Pierre will give you.

    100% my mindset on the Pie situation. You have to make up your mind this season based on his performance at either level whether or not you can count on his production for your CF spot.

    I think Marmol has a good future as a closer. I would rather not see him start anymore for the big league club.

    Agegate, ah yes. When Juan Cruz went from a promising prospect of the age 21 to an aging 26 year old prospect in the matter of months.

    I know he has had a rough go of it recently, but i am still suprised to not see Dop in the top 10. Also a little suprising to me to see Rundle above Fox and Moore.

    Sucks to be an Angels fan right now, they had their hearts set on going after Aramis now they have to settle for figgins and his production at 3rd, or hope McPherson figures out how to hit an offspeed pitch between now and April 1st.

    In all honesty i see a spring training contract extension being made that is for 6 years and inbetween 75 and 85 million. Carlos Zambrano will never wear a different major league uniform if hendry is smart.

    please lord tell me if he signs for 8 years at least two of those years are a mutual/club options.... That is the only way signing him for that long of a contract is acceptable

    Royce Ring was with the White Sox farm system. When they drafted him they invisioned him as a future closer i believe.

    I get your point and all, but isn't Warren Buffet the guy who just gave away nearly 90% of his total net worth to charity? Something like 34 billion dollars to the Bill Gates Foundation? Anyways, i just wanted to add in to the discussion since ive been a long time lurker on this board..I hope all of this discussion dealing with Ramirez looking for a 6th year and nearly 100 million dollars is just leverage to try and get the Cubs to ante up on their end. I don't want to lose Ramirez, but at 6 years and 90+ million it is getting harder and harder justifying signing him for that. Just my two cents, look forward to more posting in the future!
