  1. I think Gordon is a much better choice than Sweeney, seeing as how Sweeney won't be a Royal after this season unless he takes a huge paycut and Gordon will probably the Royals' most productive player over the foreseeable future. Though, Dayton Moore could be considered the new 'face' of the franchise, since he has done much in his short tenure to turn that club around. He'd be my vote.

    Santana

I got to see Santana pitch in KC last week. He wasn't full-on, only went six and gave up two. Not bad, but not Santana-like.
  3. Boy that derailed quickly. Go Cubs.
  4. What if those five years of consistent production become diluted by 5 years of injury-related poor or non-performance? I hope Z makes it through the length of this contract unscathed, however, I probably wouldn't go all-in based on the faith that he will.
  5. Kendall has looked pretty patient and selective recently. I haven't been expecting home runs, so working the count and getting on base have been good enough for me. I don't expect it to continue, but it is fun to watch.
  6. Awesome. Hopefully when this season closes Barry can begin to find peace. Congratulations on the remarkable career.
  7. Stoney is filling in for DJ in the Sox broadcast. Attempting to take as much advantage of seeing the Indians as possible. They're my #2.
  8. Voted on one computer, going to attempt to clear cookies and vote again. If that doesn't work, there are four other computers in the house. There's no way you lose this with NSBB behind you.
  9. If the mods deem this to be inappropriate for this forum, I won't consider it an affront to my posting sovereignty if you move it to social or whatever. Anyway, This was touched on earlier in the year, but I'd like to see who's going to be at any of the Cubs @ Rockies games this year. I'll be at Friday and Saturday's games, and if anyone is interested in meeting up and having a beer, I'm down. Make yourself known here.
  10. My boy's got this. Whether the offense does or not is another story completely.
  11. Normally a guy in AAA who is raking is usually very encouraging. In this case however, it is depressing.
  12. The truly messed up part about all of this is that if Pie was allowed to play through his struggles and stay with the team the whole season he probably would have figured it out by now. Good thing we stuck with Jones and his .231 EqA.
  13. That's a good point. As NSBB grows, people will likely connect the Northside name with the football site. Also, when there were two football teams in Chicago, the Bears were the team of the North side. So it makes sense for multiple reasons.
  14. Why? i'm not into a cute nickname for an already cute team name Fair enough. Should I assume you abstain from the "Let's go Cubbies!" chant when at Wrigley?
  15. Why?
  16. Yeah, I think 312 is probably the best one, we'd probably look silly posting on a site called northsidebasketball when the team we're talking about plays on the west side.
  17. While I would be devastated, there's no way I ever give up.
  18. I voted for the one I thought of, but I like 312football as well.
  19. Because if you're from Chicago you don't call it 'Chi town'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_nicknames_for_Chicago I never said it wasn't a nickname, what I was saying is that people who live in Chicago, at least the north side where I lived, never called it 'Chi Town'; it was generally thought of as something people outside of Chicago use.
  20. Because if you're from Chicago you don't call it 'Chi town'.
  21. Duh. northsidefootball.com (nsfb.com) northsidebasketball.com (nsbk.com?) Edit: North Side probably isn't appropriate for basketball, but it is for football, considering the Cardinals of old.
  22. It's not really technicality. Credit cards and debit cards are two different things.
  23. I'd get premium if that was a feature.
