  1. This is ridiculous. Who could we possible go out and get that is better than Rothschild?
  2. Any updates on the weather for this game?
  3. I have a feeling that their complaining isn't going to put them in the good graces of the umpires. You just don't show them up like that, especially on calls that really weren't that bad. May it be their downfall.
  4. K'd the side vs. the Brewers. FTW, IIRC
  5. Any teams out there looking for a has-been/also-ran SS? only 1, and they already got him Yeah which is why I beleive it's just a good move "for the future". Get rid of JJ, get a real decent SS prospect. However, you take JJ out of CF, then you have Pie and Pagan sharing CF. Where do you make up the offense? By letting Pie get regular and consistent at bats in the 8 hole.
  6. Agreed. It would not surprise me if Perry is shown the door after the season ends (a la Terry Shea with the Bears) assuming that the hitting doesn't become more consistent. So the Cubs, who with many of the same players, are hitting much better than last year, and are among the league leaders in many offensive categories, should fire their hitting coach? Awesome. The coaches are doing just fine. It's the players that are the problem folks. Edit - and comparing Perry to Shea is pretty laughable.
  7. The part where he disagrees.
  8.
  9. Yeah, I agree! I think the Cubs will fire Rothschild. What? Did you read what he wrote? It says the Cubs will not fire any coaches, which prompts you to say you agree, and that the Cubs will fire Rothschild. Wow.
  10. Any teams out there looking for a has-been/also-ran SS?
  11. We got that poop yesterday, it rained for about 5 hours. I hope they get this game in. I wanna see another Rammy Slammy.
  12. This trade makes decent sense, we'd save a little cash in the process, and we'd have a legitimate SS, moving Theriot over to 2B until EPatt is legitimately ready for the show. What is our outfield in this case? Soriano, Pie, Murton/Floyd?
  13. You've got to be kidding. Jim Hendry should be the casualty of Lou's frustration, not Larry Rothschild.
  14. They'll both regress, but considering how many innings pitched it will take for Looper to get through this season vs how many he's pitched in previous years, I think it would be safe to say Looper would regress more... but then again, Jason Marquis is on the Cubs, afterall.
  15. I think I took every opportunity in '03 and '04 to point out to as many people as possible just how incredibly similar those two guys are as far as hitting styles. Their battings stances are slightly different, and Aramis' has changed slightly since we first got him, IIRC. But yeah, there's definitely a comparison to be made there.
  16. I hope this ends up on a torrent host. Not stealing is for people who respect the rule of law.
  17. I can't possibly think of two teams I loathe more than the Yankees and the White Sox. If I were at that game I would be booing constantly. uh, the cardinals? I have a different approach to this than most, as I believe the Cardinals are a pretty respectable franchise and, aside from the 20-something males with Napoleon complexes towards the city of Chicago, have really polite and knowledgeable fans. They are a respectable opponent worthy of the rivalry, and they have been able to win consistently throughout their history. That's something a lot of Cubs fans should own up to, IMO, especially considering this franchise and the abuse we endure because of our devotion. I just prefer to save my hatred for the White Sox. My heart pumps lava when I encounter one of their obnoxious dufus fans.
  18. Which means that the Cubs will do exactly that and sign him to a long term deal. Ding ding ding! Moderators, tell him what he's won.
  19. I can't possibly think of two teams I loathe more than the Yankees and the White Sox. If I were at that game I would be booing constantly. I'm thinking the Mets get through their lineup at least once during the first inning, possibly even twice.
  20. Plus Murton is, by far, the most valuable trade chip of the three because of his age so he could be used to bring somebody in who will actually see the field regularly. Relief pitching, plz
  21. The Cubs will figure out how to get out of this half of the inning without getting any runs.
