I was just lazy and averaged out the annual value of their respective contracts, but depending on how Soriano's $8 million signing bonus is paid out he very well could earn $17 million this year. Besides, whether this year's salary difference is $8.5, $9.5, or $16.5 million Sosa will provide far, far, better value to the Rangers than Soriano will provide to the Cubs.
