  1. I dunno..... I mean, I agree it should serve as a wakeup call that we need to play at 100% every game, but I'm against this view that the Bears were "lucky" or should have lost the game. When you see a team knifing through an OLine as talented as the Vikes late in the 4th quarter to force a turnover, then witness your offense strike downfield for a TD........that's so far away from luck or good fortune it isn't even funny. Most defenses would have been too gassed to ever considering making a huge play like that in the backfield late in the 4th. Heck, most teams would have been too deflated PERIOD after the Grossman INT. Vikes are a definite playoff contending team in my book. You waltz up there and beat them, in their house, with that crowd? That's some serious football right there. We're going to destroy those guys in December @ Soldier Field. This is exactly how i feel. We didn't play well much of the game, but we did indeed deserve to win. We forced the fumble, we scored the touchdown. Our defense didn't allow them to get in the endzone. Thats it. The Seahawks game is going to be huge. I don't want to feel too confident, just like against the Panthers last year... But I am.
  2. Stocking up against the run to force the Bears' hands and make Grossman throw? I think they've learned their lesson.
  3. Actually, Schlereth is like...really small now. Its weird. Steroids? I really really hope the Bears win this. Can the Bears' start a ten year run of dominance over the Packers already? Christ. I'd also like to see them smash Favruh in the face a couple more times before he bows out.
  4. Ugh, so much OSU hate. Stop whining all you Notre Shame fans, christ, i'm sorry you looked so bad your first week out. OSU will hang some points on Texas, and it sure is gonna be a fun game to watch. And if I'm lucky the Illini can pull past Rutgers. i dont' know if i'm lucky.
  5. I will be pulling for the A's. Hopefully they will get the Tigers in the Division Series as opposed to the Yankees or White Sox/Twins. I'm all about the A's as well. Maybe this year they can win a playoff series!
  6. While Leyland wont kill your pitchers like Dusty will....he's not a good manager. I mean for gawd's sake, he's been leading off Neifi Perez. (Also led off Brandon Inge in a game i attended...he had a sub-300 OBP!)
  7. why? While I'm not saying its a travesty, I am incredibly surprised they are there. And this is coming from someone in a facebook group called "Quadrophenia is the best album ever, etc."
  8. Good music isn't based on how talented you are you, its primarily based on how well your write music. Bonham is, IMO, the best drummer ever to pick up some sticks. None of the Beatles were as extraordinarily talented as Page was with the gee-tar, but they could write some dang catchy tunes couldn't they? For the record, I voted Zeppelin...but you can't say the Beatles don't rock. Arguing talent is kinda pointless.

Just got back from TC today Not much to say, didn't really take notes... They didn't practice very long or very hard, it was the second practice of the day so I understand. The two new 'Backs in camp look...average. We're gonna need Thomas Jones or Benson back, for sure. Adrian Peterson had some good burst and power. Griese threw a couple of poor balls, one was picked off and a couple probably should have been. Orton was all around awful. Grossman was sufficient. I noticed the quarterbacks mostly checked it down, rarely testing the heart of the secondary. I don't know how that'll work during the season. I got Larry Mayer to say hi to me. Gould and the other kicker (Huston? ) had a little bit of a field goal challenge, both had some very nice makes (and close misses) from 47 and 53 yards out. Uhh Pictures I might show later.
  10. This should be the national championship, ah well. I have to go with Zeppelin here, my favorite band of all time... Even though I'm listening to Rubber Soul right now.

Going to Training Camp tomorrow You'll know us if you notice 5-6 obnoxious 18 year olds yelling and screaming the whole time.
  12. Its down to 1 vote now.... C'mon Floyd lovers, show up!
  13. I want to throw some respect to the 'Stones, but I enjoy listening to The Who's music more. So you know where that goes. Can't believe its such a landslide here.
  14. I hate the Red Sox and all those stupid teenagers wearing pre-faded "B" hats. I want to kill them all.
  15. What? How does one become a Royals fan? It truely boggles my mind. Whoever Boof Bonser is, he sucks hard core. He totally blew.
  16. I don't think you folow the music scene too closely then.
  17. Good thing too. They should have never gotten past Cream.
  18. He's still better than Cesar Izturis. By a far far far far far far margin.
  19. Certainly. This is easy for The Who...or it should be. (still is rocking to Quadrophenia)
  20. It'd be a shame if God Of the Universe Mauer doesn't make the playoffs. I like the way the Twins play ball.
  21. I'm gonna jump on this bandwagon. You gotta give props to a team that can be competitive with a 15 million dollar payroll. Imagine that team if they can hold on to some of their youngsters and sign some free agents. 3 world series championships for that young organization? Makes the Cubs look really bad.
  22. I root for the A's because I like Billy Beane and I like the philosophies they employ over there. That and Nick Swisher is dreamy.
  23. Let's let it sink in. And that last sentence in what I quoted makes zero sense given what we've seen time and time again when someone seemingly dares to even think of mentioning the White Sox on this board. And having Mabry in your sig, under the reasoning you gave us, is ridiculous. Career-wise, Mabry has been a very solid bench player. He only got additional playing time when Lee was injured...other than that, we've seen him about as much as you'd expect to see a pinch hitter or guy subbing for someone hurt/have a day off. Pagan is infinitely more deserving to be up there with the time he's robbed Murton of thus far, thought neither he nor Mabry are even close to Neifi/Rusch-esque levels. If you have ever read Moneyball, you have more than enough reason to hate John Mabry. The guy is a dick.
  24. the new, streamilined answer to the question posed in the title of the thread...be the opposition when he starts the ballgame. that rotation has gone from "five number 1's" to "a number 2 and four number 5's" rather quickly. And that number 2 is Jon Garland. Ouch.
