Was there any hope that the Cubs were gonna win this game after the Mets tied it? Of course not. No true Cub fan could actually imagine that. The offense wasn't even that good tonight, they got some lucky hit, some hard hit balls and some bloops, and just when they looked like they were gonna chase Glavine off and make it a terrible day for him, they got his back and went down in order for...7 innings.

I think it has less to do with Floyd's "veteran" status than it does with the fact that he's left handed, and old-timey baseball managers follow a very strict unwritten rule that you can't have too few left handers in the lineup, no matter how bad they are. -
