You guys are all missing the point. The only reason Soriano is getting hot is because Felix Pie, his like best friend, is on the roster. This happened before. Pie needs to stay on this roster.
Is there any doubt that Soriano is heating up just around the time that Pie is in the lineup...just like the last time he started hitting homers? He can't play without his buddy in the lineup
I'M GONNA WRITE AN ARTICLE FIRST I'M GONNA USE SOME GOOD STATS (OBP, SLG, ETC.) TO INTRODUCE JD DREW AND THEN I'M GONNA JUSTIFY MY PICK OF JD DREW AS "OVERRATED" WITH BAD STATS (RsBI) I LIKE WRITING
What is this? Is it that hard to get more than one run with 10 baserunners? THis is friggin' pathetic. I hate you, Cubs. Derosa hasn't done jack in FOREVER, now he goes 4-4, and nobody else hits. Screw you guys. BTW: Izturis hits into 2 double plays today, so...can we close the lid on him forever? Please? PRETTY PLEASE?
.278/.356/.504 is not nothing. I'd be mildly satisfied if Soriano did that. edit: Looking up his stats on the year, his OBP isn't much lower, but his slugging is about 50 points less. I'd like to see him actually hit for some power. I'd also love it if he'd stop swinging at balls about a yard away off the plate.
Jack Cust is my hero. I'm pretty happy the A's have finally found some offense of some sort. With Swisher, Cust, Johnson and Travis Buck, they'll be able to put up a fight in the West. (assuming Harden comes back in some way shape or form)
Why, Z? Why? No one on, 2 outs, you could have quietly strolled out of the inning, but no...you give the opponents numerous chances to come back and add to their lead. This is completely psychological. :(
We do absolutely nothing against a pitcher who's never started a major league game in his life...par for the course. C'mon you schmucks. Get 2 more runs.
eh I'm satisfied with how he hits lefties. I don't ever want him to start, and I don't want him to take at-bats away from Murton, or even nearly anyone else on the roster, for that matter.
Every baseball team, ever, has a feast or famine offense. Thats baseball. Everything else is perception. If we put up 5 runs every game, consistently, no more, no less, it would be the most bizarre thing to ever happen. And we'd also win like 95 games.
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=270519116 If we can't beat the snot out of a trashy reliever coming into a starting role, we don't deserve to make .500. To echo many many other posters: WIN YOU BUMS
