  1. Jock just completed one of the ugliest swings on a ball that was closer to missouri than the strike zone.
  2. I promised I wouldn't whine about it. But it is frustrating. I just wish we could do that more. At least the Brewers are down 5-0, and I'm confident they don't have as good a shot in coming back in this one. :D
  3. I cannot believe that St. Louis is back in this game. I am so pissed.
  4. Face it guys, we aren't going to get to this guy. We are just going to hope that they put in their bullpen early, and its not a bad bullpen either.
  5. Effin' Cardinals. How do they do that.
  6. Despite Kendall grounding out, I'm happy where he is in the batting order.
  7. This is pretty incredible: CUBS are 14-12 when Lilly starts Yet his record is 13-6.
  8. The saddest thing about this stat is that we LOST 2 games when allowing 3 hits or less.
  9. You're still wrong.
  10. Jock is in the two hole, playing right. This is dumb, can we stop doing this, please, Piniella? Whats wrong with Derosa in the two hole? Too competent?
  11. What are you even implying?
  12. These night games are starting to piss me off. I want my Cubbies to play in the afternoon.
  13. I'm as numbers oriented as anyone. Heck I'm a scientist. That's why qoutes like the below drive me up the freaking wall. No scientist worth his salt would make such a statement. There is measurement error in any model. And variation is not the same as luck. One does not call everything that cannot be explained by a model luck. I'm glad that the author took the time to invistigate when and why the model can breakdown. The point is to see how well a model fits reality, not the other way around. Aren't we arguing semantics here? Some people would call variation "luck" others would not.
  14. I dunno man, sometimes its PAINFUL to watch Derrek Lee just calmly see a batting practice pitch glide over the plate.
  15. I love when he specifically pitches himself into trouble (walking 7-8-9 hitters) and then makes some good pitches to get himself out of it and someone bloops it out of the infield to score some runs. Screw you, Carlos. You deserve it.
  16. The way offenses are going nowadays (although home runs are down, and I haven't checked for sure, but I think runs in general are down) we almost certainly are gonna see oddball 30 run (or possibly more) games again.
  17. Joe Morgan is the best all-around second basemen of all time. (Fielding, batting, and from the stats and anecdotal evidence, a good baserunner)
  18. Does anyone know of any good outfield bats coming into free agency this year?
  19. If Adam Dunn actually said the quote in your signature, he's my favorite player ever. Check that, he already is.
  20. I'd much prefer many unimportant hits to few big ones.
  21. Is that a record yet?
  22. His injury woes are at the bottom of the list of reasons against getting him.
