  1. Jones taking at least 5 pitches makes for a successful at bat for him.
  2. Probably a single by Hill and then a pop out by Soriano.
  3. Lame lame lame lame lame lame lame.
  4. Is that Brian Wilson as your avatar?
  5. Lead off man on. Lets strand him.
  6. God I wish we had old Derrek Lee and old Aramis Ramriez who would destroy that second pitch.
  7. Astros taking hitting tips from the Cubs. The object of the class: How not to score when you have runners on and no outs.
  8. If we don't make the playoffs, we can point to that series when they swept us down there. Or we could just take care of business and win our games and not complain about anything. that was our own business :?: Can't change the past buddy. Our destiny is completely in our own hands from here on out.

  10. Poor Rich Hill. He's going to pitch his heart out and not realize that the Cubs will muster no runs for him. He could get 20 strike outs if he wanted, it wont do him any good. The Cubs aren't scoring anything.
  11. Plus its been shown time and time again that it doesn't matter how good you are when the postseason starts, you just have to be there to have a chance.
  12. They were 1 game up on the Wild Card at this point in 2004. I was implying the lead in the division. We were completely dependent on winning the Wild Card.
  13. I think you are silly if you think the Cardinals have more of a shot in this division than the Cubs, who are still, LEADING THE DIVISION! At no point during 2004 did the Cubs even contend for crap. I think the odds generator is spot on: The Cubs have about a 65% chance to win and the Brewers and Cardinals are splitting the rest of it.
  14. Hahahahha, Cincy finishing above the Cubs and Brewers? Wow thats a real pipe dream.
  15. i didnt write that you fraud. I am not a marquis fan by any stretch but he isnt below average at all OMG JACQUE!!!! WHAT A PLAY I'm pretty sure his ERA+ proves he's the definition of below average.
  16. This would be how a team outperforms a Pythag record by 20 games. Insanity...anyone know what the record is? Theres actually a really good article about how the Diamondbacks are "beating" their Pythagorean Record. They really aren't "beating" anything, they just are really good but tend to lose in blowouts because of how bad the back end of their bullpen is.
  17. This is an absolute must-win game, considering that the Cards aren't apparently going to lose anytime soon, and the odds are very good for a Brewers win today. You don't want to go into the Brewers series with only a 0.5 game lead. There's no way the Cubs should be losing two of three from the D-Bags. Its picture perfect replication of the last series. We kill them in the first game, and then can't muster enough offense in the next 2.
  18. The Cubs are the most embarrassing team in the National League
  19. Yeah he's great if all you care about are lead off homers. I wouldn't touch that .235 avg and .285 obp He's also only 23 years old. .285 OBP :-\
