I'm still aghast that Sampson's pitch count is so low. He should by all rights go complete in this game. Assuming our hitters are as terrible as they've been all game.

We really shouldn't be surprised. This is pretty much teh same lineup as last year except with Kosuke, so why would we expect it to suddenly start hitting now because he came? I mean he's hitting, but no one else is doing anything, which is typical. people hit for some of the other pitchers. there's a reason he only won 11 games, and it's not because he had a bad year or got hurt a lot And it has nothing to do with who was on the mound, its just luck. Hitters don't hit better or worse for pitchers.

I mean he's hitting, but no one else is doing anything, which is typical. Soto and Pie. Pretty much just Soto, why would we expect Pie to be any better than Jacque Jones? Prove me wrong, right now.

Neither have I, Soul. Something about last year sucked a bit of my interest in the team. I think it was because I knew that they needed to make changes on the O-line and they just flat out refused to do anything about it. I'm never trusting this front office again. :( Oh well, we can get back in it, we proved this past year that Green Bay was a bit of a paper tiger, and the rest of the division is fairly mediocre, theres no reason we can't contend in this division. EDIT: I picked 10 wins last year, and if it wasn't for stupid meltdown B.S. like the first Lions game, both Minnesota games and the Giants game, we probably would have been right there, despite all the problems we had. It was pretty ugly last year, but we never really got blown out, other than perhaps the second half of the Dallas game. It shouldn't be that hard to get us back on track, despite the need for an entire offensive overhaul.

I don't get this ... why does everybody keep just posting his name, and other people quoting it? How did this start? I think early on last year, a lot of people were misspelling his name. So they'd write out his full name/correct it and quote it over and over. At least, I think that's how it started. IIRC it was in the minor league forums when Soto was absolutely annihilating AAA ball and management were too soap dropping stupid to call him up, so after like his 4th or 5th multi hit game in a row, i think sethuel or someone else just quoted his name emphatically, and i guess everyone else picked on that from there. But like all other NSBB inside jokes, their origins matter little as they are all accredited to the strange randomness of this great site ;). I'm extraordinarily proud to say that I've never just quoted Geovany Soto and not had any comments. Not that I have any problem with people doing it, I just wont do it. -
Oh lord, if that WR could have just stretched over goal line and scored, but now they are going to be waaaaay backed up. Is that another holding call? Its gonna be 1st down and goal at the 30 yard line, this is ridiculous. I don't even know who to root for in this game, but I like Mangino

imagine how much smaller the other threads would've been if games like lsu-arkansas had almost no meaning? Imagine how much Michigan wouldn't have underachieved in the Rose Bowl last year and wouldn't have just rolled over and took the punishment? So many bowls are filled with completely and utterly apathetic teams, its unexciting and skews how strong conferences are because people judge teams solely on their performance in bowls.

Ahahahahah, I tried the ESPN power 16 and it really loved Tennessee. They were a 34% underdog in the first 2 games, a 30% underdog in the semi finals and a slight favorite in the championship and won it all. Weird. Ohio State has yet to make it out of the first round in 3 tries and has been a 70%+ favorite each time.

Agreed but in just 2 or 3 more days I'll be out of here and get a well deserved month off. I'm hoping that by the time I'm finished with my Final tomorrow Fukudome will be signed with the Cubs. Get it done Hendry.

Hooray, same here. I'm so glad we didn't get sadled with Kazuo Matsui taking DeRosa's job out his able hands and for 5 million a year. Thanks Jim! Now get Fukudome.
