x2... I want to see how they look after playing some better teams... Then again, if you take the Cubs losses off the Pirates record, they don't look too bad... Hmmmm. They can play crappily against better teams all year long it doesn't really matter, its the NL Central that matters. The NL Central is crappy, and probably always will be.

Lou thinks the same thing and expresses as much in his quotes about Theriot. It doesn't preclude you from winning a championship to have one sub-par producer in your lineup. Management considers his intangibles a strong enough asset to offset these flaws, or believes he'll improve. Another thing: Fukudome could probably find a better spot leading off or hitting 2nd and is missing out on a few ABs in favor of inferior Reed Johnson and Ryan Theriot Heck, this might end up costing Derrek Lee the RBI crown if he keeps playing this way. (Not that I care...he might?)
