  1. The White Sox are a bad team and it would be nice to win a series against them this year
  2. What if Kyle Schwarber is one of the best hitters of all time and his numbers never actually regress to the mean this isn't going to happen but its the positivity thread and I like to imagine my chubby hitting god continues forever
  3. Schwarber is a robot god hitting machine I love him
  4. This is a sick joke with Braun at this point
  5. Looks like Lester is losing it That was a great play by Schwarber lol
  6. I just want to see the Cubs get Braun out once, just once It's apparently impossible
  7. I'm at the game and let me tell you, we've had a stupid amount of line outs
  8. It feels like Soler is the victim not only of absurdly bad strike calls but also seems to the one who hits into the most web gems of anyone on this team. He could definitely hit for more power but he's still turning in roughly an average MLB player's bat right now, which is fine for a rookie, and seems more lackluster given Bryant, Schwarber and to some extent, Russell, who has struggled even more with the bat but has been great defensively and is 2 years younger.
  9. I will be attending this game for the first time since April, when I saw Soler hit 40% of his current home runs. It's my fault he's had no power this year, because I've made so few games in person. Time to fix it. Anyway, what the hell is a "Cravy"?
  10. I like Matt Garza alright enough, but he sucks this year and we should pound him (and we haven't really to this point)
  11. For the Cubs specifically, I would take the 3 crap years and the championship, because duh, it's the Cubs and would be one of the most meaningful and historic sporting events of all time. We're used to crummy seasons, it is what we live with, it would be a worthy trade in the Scenario That Cannot Happen. And I'll be honest that for much of the other teams and sports I root for id probably take the 4 solid and playoff making seasons, because it just makes the whole sports season more enjoyable overall.
  12. I hope the irony isn't lost on Phil Rogers writing an article thats titled "With Russell, Cubs set at Short Stop for years to come" when the guy Addison''s replacing sparked almost exactly the same articles 5 years ago
  13. I think it fundamentally gets down to how hard hit balls are more likely to be fly balls, and batting average on fly balls are lower than ground balls Or rather, what Burt Macklin (who I thought retired, smh) said above me much better
  14. I really shouldn't be shocked, but I do find it surprising how much more fun, joyful and hopeful this team is when it's in a stretch of hot hitting and not a collective drought
  15. Nothing could be easier for them to have some clubhouse cancer article pre-written and ready to go. The lack of an easy narrative ain't fun.
  16. After the comedy of errors that was bunting by pitchers in the last series, it's nice to see some unforeseen positive Buntz here. 3 might be enough against this lineup, even with Cy Haren, Greek God of Stranded Baserunners
  17. I legitimately have no idea who half the Brewers lineup is. I'm not convinced they're real people.
  18. That is a bad bad bad lineup. With Haren pitching this is some "irresistible force meets immovable object" scenario Will be fun to see what gives first
  19. It is ok to make a thread about how a player is playing bad when they're playing bad
  20. I can scarcely imagine the vortex of stupid Kaplan and Haugh put together is
  21. Barry Rozner is a dude that still cares about RBI and pitcher Wins, he's completely useless Though Bernstein's mechanical, slavish devotion to WAR is nearly as bad and lacks introspection and curiosity (like looking at peripherals ever)
  22. its ok he's some sort of Good At Baseball Totem, wherein he emanates good baseball but he himself cannot be Good at Baseball
