  1. its obviously a lot to expect any team to sweep a major league baseball team - thats just not something you can demand of even the best team against the worst team. but boy it would have been nice
  2. NINE strike outs? against this shlub? inexcusable
  3. oh for gods sake i guess we wont get a season sweep or these guys
  4. He struggled mightily coming out, adjusted, showed tremendous bat speed and impressive power, the league adjusted to him, and he needs to make another adjustment. We'll see if he's capable of it, I sure hope so!
  5. we're gonna need a few more crooked numbers for this game to be in hand
  6. The difference lately is that the Cubs are at least hitting 100 MPH screamers that go right to defenders
  7. Pretend the guy you're facing has an ERA in the mid-6s guys
  8. I feel bad for the Assman having to go out there in mile high. Hopefully he can mostly keep the ball in the yard. of course I don’t expect yesterdays offensive output, but it would be nice
  9. Two goals for the rest of the game: PCA gets an XBH to pull his OPS back over .800 and Shaw gets another hit or two to get his OPS back over .700
  10. I don't think this team needs the Khalil Mack trade v 2.0
  11. The people deserve the Expos back.
  12. Ok, so we've established that the Cubs have a problem with pitchers with ERAs in the high 4's.... let's try something new? Can they deal with pitchers with ERAs in the high 5's in the best hitters ballpark in the league? Frankly, I'm not counting on it, but I can't wait to find out
  13. It's sad that Schwarber is the only guy from the 2016 core that still rocks. Sad he was the one we jettisoned first.
  14. If they keep insisting on expanding the playoff teams I'm ok with it. I don't want to end up in a situation akin to the NBA where more than half the teams are in the playoffs are the regular season virtually doesn't matter. The perfect system was the 3 division winners and one wildcard, or, if you must, two wildcards.
  15. Do... do you think they're the worst offense in the league
  16. The Parsons trade is one that makes sense for the Packers that wouldn’t make any sense for where the Bears are. Sucks to say, but is the truth. If everything goes right this year, that’s the kind of trade you’d make next year. anyway, I remain unintimidated by any of those teams, provided we actually make steps forward. We “should” have swept the Packers last year and I expect the Lions to take a significant step backwards. But, unfortunately, we’re likely another year away from serious contention delusions
  17. Well the way they’ve played lately is literally the worst offense in the league, and I don’t think that’s what they are
  18. Honestly this is shocking and more than that it’s shocking they’ve remained .500ish during that time
  19. This 100% lining up to be a game the cubs lose on a very stupid walk off, let’s say a walk off wild pitch
  20. Oh my god it’s like an exact replay of game 1
  21. Cubs have 4 run barrier problem. They simply struggle immensely cresting the hill to 4 runs (and, presumably the runs beyond that) - once they can get to 4 runs they're usually ok. But boy howdy its damn hard for them to reach it since the ASB.
