    Montero has a delightful personality, and I love how he seems pumped about everything, including earning a walk. But boy has he been painful to watch play this year. Baez has the same weird personality though, so we can eject Montero into the sun.

    I've been at a conference all weekend so I missed most of the whole doom spiral against the Mets but the best way to talk anyone down is: as long as this team makes the playoffs as a division winner everything's good. It's all a virtual crapshoot anyway, and the Cubs are >95% to win the division. The struggles have been annoying after the otherworldly start, but there's time in what remains a basically extended preseason to tweak and fix and acquire and do whatever else you can do (which is very little) before the playoffs.

    I get why Peralta is on the roster, we've had injuries and have had few options, there's just no reason for him to ever get in a 2-run game with a runner on late

    Joe really likes to give bad new veterans high leverage games to start off with, I dunno why he does this but he does it Let the bad pitchers pitch in relatively meaningless spots to start off with, my opinion
