  1. She apparently strangled him with a purse strap.
  2. From Bruce's blog:
  3. Well, have you ever seen anybody play 3 infielders on one side of the infield against Juan Pierre? No sir. Cuz he sprays the ball. No telling where that ground ball power is goin.
  4. They DLd him on 7/5 , no retro. Huh...shore nuff. ESPN's list of the Padres roster didn't show a DL next to his name...stupid ESPN.
  5. I wonder how tough it would be to get Blanco from the Padres?
  6. Ride the hot hand with Fox? Lou was apparently pretty pissed at the offense.
  7. Exactly. Not sure why there's surprise. If ever there was a free swinger, Shawon was it.
  8. Hill's done a good job, but wow. Just when you thought we were healthy.

    Golf

I still remember Phil taking 3-4 shots to try to get up a hill, but it kept landing near the top and rolling right back to his feet...was it last years US Open I think?

    Golf

How can someone not like Phil Mickelson? He's the Jimi Hendrix of golf. Jimi was left handed and learned to play a right handed guitar upside down. Phil is right handed and golfs left handed because he would destroy the field if he actually played right handed. I hate watching lefties play golf. It looks so unnatural to me. Lefty batters don't bother me the same way though...I don't know why.
  11. Yeah, still don't know who that is, but Cutler's doing better than Mcnair was doing, for sure.
  12. I have no idea at all who that is.
  13. Meh. I was wondering how long it would take him to bust out the "IT WAS OUT OF CONTEXT~!!" line. I don't think he even understands what "out of context" means. Honesty and douchebaggery are not synonomous.
  14. ive seen you. and she is, at the very least, good enough for you creepy. but she killed steve mcnair, so my instincts to avoid her and her hooknose would've been a good move. In fact, lets just take this to it's logical conclusion. All hooknose women can safely be considered murderers at this point.
  15. Peavy and Halladay might have just become more expensive.
  16. Just to clarify "great" isn't used as an adjective. He has a fracture in his great (big) right toe. And no this isn't good. Ah thanks...I was afraid I'd messed that up.
  17. Zambrano pitching tonight per Bernstein on the Score. They called it a great fracture of the right big toe.
  18. Ian Kinsler has 20hr's this year while batting leadoff. But his average is only .253 and his OBP is only .331. Nevermind that he's 4th in runs scored this year...3 behind the leader, Chone Figgins. No, he should be lowered in the lineup immediately.
  19. Bah. Why temper your enthusiasm? Why enjoy this to the max? You don't get a high quality QB, that's proven they can perform in the NFL at a high level, in his prime, via trade very often. I'm a Cubs/Bears fan...I'm used to disappointment. I can deal with that if it comes, but I'm enjoying the anticipation of this season as much as I can.
  20. Sure...and I don't have a problem with moving him down while he's in this bad of a slump. But as far as overall, he's been one of the best Runs/AB leadoff hitters the last couple of years. I couldn't find those stats specifically, but just looking at the Runs Scored rankings the last couple of seasons, almost everyone that has scored more than him did so because they got about 200 more AB's...due to Soriano's injuries. He's no doubt not your "prototypical" leadoff hitter...but I don't think there's a lot of evidence that they do the job a whole lot better than Soriano (when he's not ice cold).
  21. So a leadoff hitter knocking themselves in (not that Soriano has been doing that for almost 2 months) is unacceptable? Id rather have a leadoff guy that will consistantly get on base than 1 who will hit the occasional home run but more often than not K on 3 pitches or ground weakly to SS on the 1st or 2nd pitch. Will Kosuke consistantly get on base? Time will tell. Thing about Soriano is, when hes hot, Ill take him anywhere in the first 5 lineup spots, but when hes cold, I want him nowhere near the lineup. Soriano is 7th in the MLB in run scored from the leadoff spot. Isn't it kind of silly to complain about HOW he's scoring the runs? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/stats/batting?split=109&league=mlb&season=2009&seasonType=2&sort=runs&type=reg&ageMin=17&ageMax=51&state=0&college=0&country=0&hand=a&pos=all&startDate=null&endDate=null&minpa=0
