  2. I'm surprised that quote is causing this much discussion to be honest. I just thought it was bulletin board material...that's all.
  3. I'm sure he knows who the Bears receivers are. Probably the ones that played last year, yeah. I don't know if he knows all the rookies.
  4. Yeah, it doesn't really take a lot.

He wasn't all that great yesterday either was he? Missed a ton of fairways. He lost a drive today despite having several dozen spectators help him look. Watson just finished with a very long putt for a second round 70 and is -5, tied for the lead. Tiger is +7, tied for 107th, with Duval, Campbell and many others. Totally rooting for Watson at this point. That would be an incredible win. I don't see him among the leaders on sunday Realistically, probably not. But that doesn't mean I won't be rooting for him.

  9. I'm envisioning a gif of Jim Hendry actually eating middle infielders.
  10. Basically, these are players who did not enter themselves into the regular draft, and then found out they were ineligble for playing in college next year for one reason or another and so decided to turn pro. In Jarmon's case, he tested positive for a supplement and was ineligible for his senior year, which is why he came out now, but it wasn't in time for the regular draft. I see...thanks.
  11. Good lord this season needs to start.
  12. I guess the question is what makes you eligible for the supplemental draft? Scenario...player X played college ball last year. Goes through the NFL draft undrafted, and is signed as a free agent. Why wasn't this guy in that scenario?

    Wow...Tom Watson?
  14. Yeah, I think we're only paying like $400k for him. Good gamble.

How can you manage to make out the details through the standard def? I was watching it this morning and the picture looked fine, plus all your going to see in HD is the grey cloudy/rainy skies and the wind blowing things around. I don't have HD...was just having some fun cuz I know those that do have HD get convulsions if they have to watch SD. :)

  18. Still probably my favorite game of the last few years. Although the Bears/Saints NFC Championship is also fun, but more because it was the NFC Championship. It was a fun few minutes, but it was hardly my favorite game. It completely exposed all of Grossman's weaknesses and essentially served as the beginning of the end of his time at the helm, not to mention the end of Mike Brown's. It was a really ugly game. There were a couple road wins against GB that were more enjoyable, and I think the ugly weather destruction of Favre in Soldier Field was also better. The first two games of 2006, when they destroyed GB and Det were pretty nice, and I was at the latter which makes it better to me. Also the Giants and Jets games from that year, moreso the Giants game, were better efforts from the Bears and I was there. If I had a choice of watching the Bears/Cardinals game from 06, or the games you mentioned on NFL Network, I'd pick Bears/Cardinals without a second thought. That's how I'm judging it...:P He's right though. The Cards did expose Grossman that game. I don't know, of course, but what they did probably became the basis of the rush-heavy schemes he saw from that point after. And we know now, he couldn't handle it. Oh I'm not saying Grossman wasn't exposed. I was about ready to give up on that game that night when they started the comeback. I'm just saying, for me, the excitement of the ending made up for the rest of the game. I guess it was just one of the biggest high's of the non-playoff variety that I can remember.

  21. No argument with what you say, except: All this stuff about the defense being so tired. They're too tired, can't get it done. This was never an acceptable excuse before. If they get too tired, then that also means they aren't as good. They used to get it done IN SPITE OF being too tired. They got older, and beat up. I mean come on...the D carried this team during the Super Bowl run, and the best parts of the last 9 years or so at a minimum. Now the defensive stars have aged and dealt with injuries, and really we haven't had any new young defensive stars emerge. Some nice players, but Briggs and Harris are really the youngest "stars" that we have on defense. I don't think it's a problem to admit that they might just not be up the task of carrying the team at this point the way they have in the past, and that Cutler helping bring a better offense into town will help mitigate that.
  22. This guy has been filling in with Zach Zaidman in the mornings the last couple days, and it's a rare coming together of two morons. I don't have a problem with what he said. Strategic bankruptcy is a tricky thing. Using it to get out of obligations you have the ability to pay is morally questionable. But that's not really what they are doing here from what I'm understanding. They're doing it to get out of liability for some of the Tribune's debt. It's really a way to sever themselves from the Trib's finanacial mess. Unless I'm misunderstanding it. No, I understand that, what I'm saying is it's not like he was saying, "I had no idea they were broke", he's questioning the legality of declaring bankruptcy to get out of legal obligations, which I think is a defendable position to take. What does being profitable have to do with that though? To me that was implying that they were trying to get away with "playing broke". Maybe I'm reading too deeply into it. In any case, since the Cubs owner had already declared bankruptcy nearly 6 months ago, and I don't believe have come out of it yet, I'm not sure why it's an outrageous thing for the Cubs to do as well.

I'm fairly certain they broadcast the tourny live. It ends in the early afternoon here. Yep. And really it's only Carnoustie that's dreary looking, imo.
