    A lot of it is that DVOA, especially before the games have been played, weighs previous seasons heavily. Probably why GB is so low and our D is so high.

    The Bears have always had a stellar ST during the Smith era. During 2006 and 2007, when Hester was crazy with the return TDs, they were so far and away the best ST squad that FO's prior position of ST success being largely luck was rescinded. Agreed. Just not sure why Cleveland got ST love, and why they are so confident in the Bears D.

    The #2 ranked ST...ok. I buy that. Although Cleveland has the top ranked ST? And then the Bears as the #2 defense? That's really optimistic.

    Yeah, the Packers hype level is far, far too high. That's ok though...3 more days to keep building it up.

    If we can go 1-2 through that stretch, I'll be content. I'd be glad to be in a position to get to 2-2 for the first quarter of the season with a win against Detroit and go from there (there's that Lovie-speak again). Me too. :beg: Screw that noise. 4-0.

    If the numbers agreed with all of your perceptions, there'd be no need for the numbers! ;) Right. I just don't trust their formulas for determining value yet.     His job is to look like Omar Epps, and he's very, very good at it.

    Yeah, FO is a great read...and they certainly break things down with a lot more though and accuracy than Mark Schlereth or Trent Dilfer or Keyshawn Johnson or whatever schlubs ESPN is employing this week. Nothing is ever perfect, but it's closer than anything else right now.

    But was it later in the game that it became hard for them get off on 3rd downs? After they'd been on the field for a while? I don't know the answer for sure, and I'm not sure how to check that out without going through 16 game logs.

    I'm not gonna do 10 of these...at least not right now. But my bold prediction for the season is that two of the Bears WR finish with 1000 yards this season.

    I disagree with this for 2 reasons. 1) The O-Line was not good last year. We had freaking John St Clair out there for pete's sake. 2) The passing threat wasn't there either. Once they had Hester covered (which just about every team did) then all they had to worry about was the underneath stuff. I will say I don't think Forte gets as many catches this year, because Cutler won't throw underneath nearly as often as Kyle did. But I think Forte will be a better runner this year. He has great vision, and is fantastic at finding a hole.

    I tried that at Lowes and home depot hoping to run into the "Yard crasher" TV show guy and it never happens, but considering there are more Ricketts you may have better odds You know...Lowes and Home Depot don't require tickets for entry, right?
