  1. The draft. They shouldn't have to draft a QB or RB early anytime soon. They will need to rededicate themselves to drafting a ton of defensive help the next couple years. But they'll also need to look at WR's. And they're down a first round pick again this year.
  2. I think coming after that game last night it hurts a little more as a fan though.
  3. Locking this up. Lets combine our collective depression in the week 2 thread.
  4. Omg wow...Urlacher is out for the season.
  5. Hopefully Cutler comes out with a chip on his shoulder....and not the crazy ragey kind that we saw in the first half last night. Man I can't wait to get back to playing 4-3 defenses.
  6. The Tribune isn't reporting anything as far as length of time that Urlacher will be out right now. They said the surgery could just be to set the bone. Hopefully it's a quick recovery.
  7. He had a great view while having his head down motioning to Wolfe. But the point is that the 5 yard flag wouldnt have given the Bears a first down and they would have punted anyway. Wouldn't the snap to Maynard draw the same penalty? It'd probably take longer than a snap to Wolfe. And it's easier to signal to a closer player that you're going to snap the ball early. If he snaps to Maynard before he's expecting the ball, that play would've actually been worse.
  8. He had a great view while having his head down motioning to Wolfe. But the point is that the 5 yard flag wouldnt have given the Bears a first down and they would have punted anyway. For sure. Long snappers should not be in the business of thinking on the football field.
  9. How the [expletive]? We outplayed GB. Every stat but the score (and INT's) were in our favor. Really, if we just cool it with the turnovers and direct snaps to the RB, we'll win those games. First game of the season, lots to clean up. Cutler may have been the worst thing in that game...and we all know he can play. He had a terrible game tonight. Next one will be better.
  10. BradBiggs: Word from sideline is long snapper Pat Mannelly snapped fake punt to Wolfe because he though Pack had 12 men on field
  11. Dude you're comparing preseason (the world where the Lions go 4-0 and the Packers never punt) to regular season. Neither the Giants or Broncos were showing much of anything they would run in the regular season. Besides in both the Giants and Broncos games, he threw passes that went right off defenders hands, at least one that was guaranteed to be a pick 6 Which happened in tonights game too! See...directly comparable. :)
  12. I still can't help but be more optimistic going forward than other years. But maybe that's the delusional Chicago sports fan in me.
  13. I agree....that INT was highly unlikely (though you'd think he would see the 320 pound dude standing between him and his target) That 320 pound dude went freaking horizontal to make that INT. I'm sure he saw him and just didn't think he could make that move.
  14. This happened all too frequently.
  15. If that's the case, I think Urlacher will likely be playing next week.
  16. You're completely correct....if your QB throws 4 picks and people are blaming them all on someone else, you are an idiot. Yes the WRs had much to blame on a majority of the picks but it takes 2 to tango. At least 2 of those picks are on the receivers. That last one, and...one more...I forget which one now...freaking 4 picks. There was one down the middle of the field though that there was no receiver even there....and well...4 is too many to keep track of. I don't know on the 4th. And Cutler threw into quadruple coverage late in the game. Oh I'm not even touching the "near interceptions".

I don't know on the 4th. the 4th was the dump off to Forte that was picked by the nose tackle Ahhh...yeah, that's on Cutler....but frankly that was more of an amazing defensive effort really. But I'll give that one to Cutler. 2 for Cutler, 2 for WR's....in my professional opinion...

  19. Yes it was, thats not picked off if Knox doesnt stop on that route that's what the announcers said, but Knox was behind Harris and Cutler threw it right into Harris' numbers. watch the replay He threw it there because Knox stopped. If Knox keeps running, Cutler leads the ball.
  20. Whatever. The defense was great the whole game. They had issues at the end when they had guys like Hillenmeyer on the field. You can't pin this one on the D. And Cutler was screw by his receivers all night long.
  21. Boy oh boy. I was in denial about our receivers. I think Hester is legit...but wow. They were able to take Hester (for the most part) and our TE's (almost entirely) out of the game, and Cutler had nothing but Bennett the rest of the night.
  22. Who had a 15-13 score in the pool?
  23. The Bears have completely and totally gift wrapped 10 points for the Packers tonight.
