  1. Yeah, in saying untouchables I really just meant a core to build around. I'd like to try to stick with Forte because I don't trust this team to develop a RB...not that I wouldn't like to see someone behind Forte.
  2. Allowing myself to live the fantasy that Lovie is gone after this year, I don't think Shanny will be coming in. Thats' just a job threat to Angelo that I don't think he wants...which is understandable. Personally, I'd like to see Cowher in here, but there's no shortage of talented coaches on the market this offseason. Angelo is 9 years into his stay here and signed for what, 4 more? I don't see the need to feel a threat, and I'm guessing he's going to be willing to move on in the next few years anyway. Angelo has abandoned the draft and abandoned the defense above all else philosophy. He's spent big on a big time QB and has not received much of an early return on that investment. He needs an influx of offensive minds, and I bet he recognizes that. Angelo's best trait so far has been finding mid-draft talent to fill in on defense. He's sucked with RBs, he's sucked with WR (his best one was drafted as a KR/DB), he can't find an offensive lineman to save his life. He can't like seeing players he drafted find much greater success on other teams. Angelo has to think the offense is in need of a kick in the pants, and without a top notch defense, Lovie serves no purpose. That all makes sense, but I still think when you have another guy that has been a GM in the past in the organization, there's a certain level of unease that goes along with it. It's always better to be the only guy around that can do your job. I think we can all agree that the big part of the problem with Cutler is the surrounding talent. Both lines are awful, but the O-line is especially atrocious. I'm sick to death of Kreutz. Omiyale might as well just be a practice dummy. They can't send Hester and/or Knox long because Cutler can't survive a 5-7 step drop. But yeah...I'm done with Lovie and Turner. The two of them need to go. I'm tired of Lovie's "everything's ok...nothing to see here" philosophy. Get pissed at this team dammit!
  3. Who are the untouchables on this team? Cutler for sure. Briggs. Knox maybe? Um...Forte? Although I don't know what to think about him right now... Tillman maybe...Olsen maybe (if you think he can still meet his potential)... Gould and Maynard. Hester? My opinion on the talent on this team has drastically changed in two weeks. Hard to tell if I'm being objective here...probably not.

  5. How much difference does a healthy Urlacher make to this defense?
  6. The only guy that I can think of that played well yesterday was Hester, and even he had a fumble. Just a disaster game in every possible way. Brad Biggs says there's no chance that Lovie's job is in jeopardy after the season. Not even a shot.
  7. Why oh why do we save Knox for the end of the game? Why doesn't he start?
  8. I hope the fire Lovie/Turner talk fires up this week. I'm tired of them. Not that it will happen.
  9. Omiyale is getting destroyed again.
  10. Bears are getting dominated at the line in both directions.
  11. huh... Cool effect. I call it a feature. :D Working as intended!
  12. Oh I figured it out...just saying it's wrong. :)
  13. Yeah...teams could be interested in Bradley only because they think the Cubs will give him away. If they they hold out for value, interest could shrink quickly.
  14. By the way, I didn't read that to mean anything about payroll limits. I think Ricketts just doesn't want to pay out too much money for a good player to play for another team. Can't blame him. If you have to spend the money, you should at least be getting something for it.
  15. How could the Bears have blackballed him, when hes on a team? The veterans treated him like crap. The Urlacher/Brown/Kreutz triumvirate apparently thought he never should have been drafted and they did their best to not welcome him into the team. Was it that they didn't think he should've been drafted, or they didn't like that he held out?
  16. Now apparently, it's an extended leave of absence...not a suspension.
  17. Hmmm...I have an issue with this one....first base is wrong:
  18. Hillenmeyer practiced today.
  19. YESSSSSSS Yes, I'm pleased. Hmm...it looks like it says he was offered the Iowa job...but it doesn't say he took it.
  20. It'd be a surprise to me if it happened this season unless the coaches start changing some things to get these guys open more often. Making Knox a starter would be a good step as well.

  22. Olsen could serve as the big target no? As for the remaining WR's we've seen flashes from Knox and Bennett, the talent is there, I believe it's only a matter of time with Cutler and company. Olsen is still receiving double coverage. Despite his lack of production, teams still see him as a big threat, and scheme to shut him down. Until our WR's become larger big play threats, that'll continue to happen. They've all had nice moments, but nothing that makes another team say "Oh crap, we'd better start double covering Knox/Hester/Bennett"
  23. Well it won't be Favre. :)
  24. I don't know what to do about Tommie. We've got him signed to a big deal...but his performance is just not worth it. Right now we don't have the manpower to replace him, but what about in the offseason?
