  1. The Boise State national championship season is about to begin.
  2. Heh...these guys know that there's no opportunity for a starters job here unless Cutler goes down in a heap...why would they want to come here? Meanwhile, the O-line is still a concern for me... Good lord, we'd better not have any O-lineman get hurt...we've got no depth behind them....who is James Marten?
  3. It's going to be a popular opinion that the Blackhawks dismantled and won't win the division this year, though. When you go through an offseason like this, people are just going to see a lot of names going away that were ones that got big during the playoffs, when everyone was watching.
  4. That has to impact his chances at being a starter though, you'd think. Any word on Steltz?
  5. How did Afalava's stock drop so much? I mean, I know he wasn't great last year, but he was a 6th rounder starting in his rookie season...there's surely room for him to develop his game.
  6. The Bears had Steltz starting on Saturday, and even if Major Wright had won the job, he would've been getting some playing time. Supposedly Steltz has had a great camp.
  7. Udonis Haslem arrested:
  8. You are right that they shouldn't allow spectators to stand in it. But the rules regarding bunkers were clearly made available to him and was pasted on the wall in the clubhouse. Dustin said he didn't bother to look at them. The players in the clubhouse who were watching the coverage on TV were talking aloud saying that Johnson better not ground his club. Unfortunately he did. I dont know a lot about golf, did him breaking the rule give him an advantage? The idea behind the rule is that you aren't supposed to be able to test the "firmness" or condition of the hazard by putting your club on it.
  9. In an individual game, fine. But multiply that times the number of games in a season...something close to 2600 or so, right?
  10. You forgot about Steltz, who sounded like the most seriously injured on the night from what I'd read. I think Wright should be ok though...even if he has a broken finger, he won't miss a huge amount of time.
  11. It was pretty obvious that he did too. You can argue that it's a dumb course rule, and that's fair, but dumb or not...he should have known.
  12. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/hockey/blackhawks/ct-spt-0816-haugh-niemi-chicago--20100815,0,5349441.column I feel bad for the guy actually...I think he got some really horrible advice.
  13. Beekman was terrible all night, imo.
  14. Ahhh yes. The first preseason game is a great time to evaluate whether this team is going to be any good. Watching the rest of the games is pretty unnecessary really. I gotta say, it was great to see someone besides Ron Turner calling the plays.
  15. Washington might have issues, but I they're set pretty well at QB.
  16. I think it's safe now. I unlocked it. Tree had posted a picture of Kane and Kodos...and it was similar to the filename that the virus scanner at work was getting mad about, so I removed it. Lemme know if anybody has more issues.
  17. Browse with avatars turned off. People linking in pictures from other sites is the usual culprit there. I have avatars and sigs turned off Tim...I always do. Not sure what's up with that thread. huh...Is it a pic someone put in one of the posts? Could be, but I'm not gonna investigate it while I'm here at work...I'll check it out later.
  18. Neither can Mississippi Actually we can....although the only reason why is they teach us a little ditty when you are in kindergarten here: "M-I-crooked letter-crooked letter-I-crooked letter-crooked letter-I-humpback-humpback-I." They taught that in my school in central IL too.

  20. Dunno what's going on with that other thread, but lets continue the discussion here.
  21. Not really. It's not your fault you never look beyond the USA in the medals table, or that the calculations to convert relative to population size can be too complicated. We are actually quite tolerant about intellectual laziness. 8-) http://ic2.pbase.com/o4/52/150052/1/60237644.staxsmall.jpg And something posted on the first page keeps trying to install malware on my computer. Be careful. So that's what it was...I kept getting virus popup warnings yesterday on my work computer...something about wowkan~1.gif
  22. Because he looked awful in April and people haven't been paying attention since then? He was pretty awful in May too, but yeah... He was a stud in July.
  23. Why are we trying to trade Ramirez?
  24. I feel ya. I'm 29 and would be considered almost past my prime for professional sports. That's just not right! My birthday is a couple months off from Kerry Wood, so he's been my measure for quite a while now in that regard.
