  1. He goes on to make some decent observations that could mean Cutler will still be turnover prone despite a strong start. But his entire premise is flawed as the first comparison, which apparently indicates that if Cutler turns into Brett Favre that would be a bad thing. Maybe Favre's risky behavior doomed his recent teams in the end, and maybe it prevented him from winning more than 1 Super Bowl. But the guy still put up HOF numbers and kept his team in contention nearly every year. That's not a bad thing at all. Additionally, his entire premise is based on him watching game tape and deciding whether or not a QB made a bad decision. That's a flawed way to create a stat. Sometimes you can tell if it's a bad decision, sometimes you can't. Sometimes bad decisions don't actually result in bad things happening. I fully expect Cutler's INT ratio to increase as the season goes on. He's not finishing with 8 unless he gets injured early. But that doesn't mean it's doom and gloom. I don't have insider, but does he mention Mike Martz's system as a factor at all? Surely the system you play under can have an effect on decision making. From what I understand, there's much less decision making to be made under the Martz system.
  2. True, but then so were the Cowboys last week. :-)
  3. Duh, the Packers are the greatest team that ever lived or ever will live. I'm surprised at how many picked Dallas to beat the Texans too...lol.
  4. Only Hoge picked the Bears this week on ESPN... http://espn.go.com/nfl/picks
  5. Major Wright out 3 weeks with hamstring issues... http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2010/09/major_wright_chicago_bears_hamstring_strain.html
  6. Rehashing the Cutler trade from the Bronco's perspective. http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/2010/09/22/rehashing-the-decision-orton-or-campbell/5321/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+dp-blogs-broncos+(Denver+Post:+Sports:+Broncos:+Blog) Basically, good move Broncos picking Orton, and not Campbell.
  7. The article appears to be mostly speculation, though they have "sources". They aren't saying anything is going to happen immediately...only if they lose to the Texans.
  8. Pick 2 of: Mendenhall McFadden Moreno Snelling
  9. Bears jumped from 22 to 12 in the ESPN rankings... http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings?year=2010&week=3 John Clayton ranked the Bears 6th!
  10. Yeah, Cutler just seems more confident than Rex did. Rex had his moments, sure. But Cutler really seems like the leader of this team. I didn't ever really feel that way about Rex.
  11. NHL Network is broadcasting preseason games...here's the full schedule. Hawks on tomorrow night....
  12. Outplayed them...except for all the mistakes that the 49ers made that you just mentioned, right?
  13. Mike Williams - Tampa Bay WR - has 2 TD's in as many games. They play Pit this week, and are on bye in week 4, so it may not be a beneficial pickup till week 5.
  14. Buddy of mine didn't start Gore in ffb this week because "he didn't like the matchup". He started Brandon Jackson and Deangelo Williams instead, and lost by less than 4 points to his wife's team....ouch.
  15. Sounds like he's in the doghouse, but they haven't told him why....weird...
  16. Funny how a couple weeks can change your perspective on the schedule difficulty...I'm trying not to jump to conclusions here, but there are a lot of games that look a lot more winnable this morning. The Giants game was the only won that looked potentially intimidating, but there wasn't any reason to assume the Giants were world beaters even before this week. The Vikings and Eagles both look a lot less scary than they did before the season started, imo.
  17. Gonna be glad to get done with these couple of nationally televised games and get back to noon games. Though I suppose if they have some success, they'll probably get flexed a couple times.

  19. Not especially. They beat us by a TD last year in Soldier. The smacked us in 2006 in Soldier and 2004. Before 2004, yeah...they had our number, but since then...it's been more tilted in our favor...even in GB actually. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bears%E2%80%93Packers_rivalry
  20. One of the Packers boards says the Bears are favored by 3. Gambling sites are blocked for me at work, so I can't check...but he's gotta be full of it...
  21. Is it public reaction that would keep him from making that move though, or locker room reaction? I'm guessing that locker room loves Vick right now.
  22. Well before the season started, I traded Kolb and Olsen for Chad Henne and Chris Cooley. Cooley's played nicely for me so far. When Grant went down, I grabbed McFadden for this week, and will probably be starting Moreno next week. Looking at getting one or both of Mike Williams and/or Jason Snelling this week. I'm 2-0 so far (blowing out my opponent this week enough that tonights game is moot), and depending on the number of points scored tonight, I might be in line for 1st place this week.
  23. Melissa Isaacson had one on ESPN this morning (along with like 3-4 Cowboys articles). Peter King had nary a mention of the game...you'd barely knew it existed, though he has the Bears ranked like number 8. He countered that positive by bashing the O-line in his "things I didn't like" segment. But yeah, very little Bears praise. Isaacson is a national writer now? Or is it one of those espnchicago things? ESPNChicago, but it was linked on ESPN's NFL page as a normal article... http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/columns/story?columnist=isaacson_melissa&id=5594140
