    Two separate transactions reported in the same tweet. I think "in a related move" simply means they're both Cubs moves. Well, it's related in that they traded him to make up for some of the money they're paying Hamels, and the Rangers would've had to pay the $6M buyout if the Cubs didn't exercise the option. Ah ok, I see it now.

    I believe you’re right even though I don’t quite get the logic of the PA req Yeah that does sound familiar now. Maybe spotrac thought it was an error and that an opt in made more sense, and so they wrote it that way.

    He could do it physically, imo. He just has to figure out the metal side of it. The guy has to be more consistent before you can trust him in that kind of role. Wasn’t he literally turned in to a relief pitcher because he kept getting hurt as a starter?
