This is such a bogus argument. First off, Lou P. as a manager would be the same as Dusty, so lets pretend he's not a candidate, because it would make me cry. Second, no one's saying that a manager is going to make Phil Nevin into Barry Bonds, that's just hyperbole. But a new manager can make smart decisions about lineups, in game strategy, bullpen usage, and who to actually put into the game. They can play the younger players in order to see what we have going into next season, and can stop making excuses for a horrible team.
