    ESPN has a working gamecast of this one...and it's got live commentary. Yeah, but for whatever reason it wont load for. So I'm watching on CBS's 1980's version. Ahhh...sorry then man...that's the best I got.

    Um...a lot of that would require a lot more than just "being commish". Would that kind of realignment require approval from all/most of the teams? And I Know that salary caps would require union approval, which they won't get.

    I don't know that Cedeno is on my core...if he can help bring another good talent in, I go for it. He's not so valuable that he's untouchable for me.

    You're all absolutely right about the derogatory sexual slurs. I'm not debating that at all. They have no place anywhere. But you know what? Someone decides to badmouth me in the newspaper, I'm going to use every swear word I can find. It may not be professional in the sports sense, but attacks upon a person don't have to be professional. Both of them just need to keep their traps shut if nothing productive is going to come out of them. did I miss something - did Mariotti say something about Guillen? If not, what gives him the obligation to open his mouth to defend an opposing manager? That is simply classless and really his comments are extraordinarily offensive. Guillen apparently has also made some criticisms of Ozzie and Chad Tracey or something...the Dusty thing was not the only trigger.

    For me, there's too much of a bitter taste in my mouth with this team. There's too many guys I flat out don't like, and I don't want them on the team anymore. I'll take whatever works as far as building a successful team, but given my choice, it's fire sale. It's like I've swallowed something that tastes horrible...it's time to wash out my mouth.

    :lol: Seriously though, I don't dare hope that they would release Neifi. He's been worse than normal, and he didn't have the fluke April to mask the overall horrible numbers. It's not likely they could part with the guy, but there has to be some thought of the idea. In the end the best we can hope for is a release of Womack. They are similarly worthless, but when it comes to releasing players, the Cubs will always choose the guy they don't have to pay to go away. I still don't see them releasing him and eating that contract. It's just not in the Cubs character. One thing Hendry has always been very good at, is getting rid of albatross contracts, when he wants to. I expect he could trade Neifi to some team after a nice little Neifi offensive explosion...:P

    I'm with you. I'm really all for trading just about anyone on this team at this point, especially the "bargains". That makes Walker, Jones, Dempster and the like very tradeable in my opinion. I don't have faith that Dempster will remain a solid closer long term anyway. He was really good there for a long stretch, and that's all well and good, but he's shown some cracks in the armor that make me think he may not be the best long term option there.
