Why can't the Cubs think like the Bears? I realize that the NFL is very different...but I'd like to see a little of that creep into the Cubs philosophy.

His average is up to .291 as well. Too bad his OPS is still a terrible .760. I think he's a guy that people shouldn't give up on though. -
John Clayton should be posting a Bears camp report later today on ESPN also. Here's the above mentioned report. Why don't we have every NSBB member wrap up and ship our copies of Moneyball to Jim Hendry with a little note asking him politely to read it? Maybe then he will sit down, read a book and get some semblance of OBP. There are better books for Jim to read than Moneyball. I'd prefer he start with the Hidden Game of Baseball and work from there. I'm betting he'd dismiss Moneyball out of hand anyway.

Glavine also only started 25 games in 1994, and Smoltz only started 21. Remember, that was the year shortened by the strike that wiped out the postseason. Duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. #-o -

I'm a little irritated at the Orton reports. I was a pretty vocal backer of his, and really thought he'd be improving by the start of this season. I think all the partying, the long hair, the beard...all gives the impression that he's lazy and not working hard. I don't actually know if that's the case, but that's sure the impression I'm getting, and I'm losing interest in him.

I think Wood would only be asked back to the Cubs at a serious discount, and probably with mucho incentives. If he wants to come back that badly, I'm all for it. He doesn't hurt this team as much if he's planned as a reliever IMO. I just want 5 healthy starters....I know I know...I ask a lot. -

dusty is aware of the concept of air travel, no? guzman wouldn't have to ride a mule from las vegas to chicago. Dusty is taking the stereotypes that his own behavior has created, and exceeding them with every passing day. I've never seen a manager so completely incompetent, and the fact that he fools so freaking many people is beyond mystifying.
