  1. I'm not so sure about that. I don't think Juan really wants to stay. Espically since Baker is gone. That may prompt Hendry to overbid though and that worries me. C'mon! When was the last time the Cubs out-bidded anyone! Neifi, Rusch, Jones, Howry, Eyre, Dempster...the list is long and lamentable. Jeff Blauser!

  3. Jeff Gordon of the Post-Dispatch thinks that if the Cards don't make the playoffs, La Russa should be fired.
  4. Absolutely not. The trade was a mistake. Re-signing him would be another one. Two wrongs don't make a right here.
  5. Does that mean Williams is out for the year?
  6. No, and that's not a good sign. Lovie said yesterday that they didn't know the severity of it yet. The Trib said a high ankle sprain would keep him out around 4 weeks.
  7. I don't think either the Tribune or MacPhail sees it that way, though I agree with you.
  8. I'm less interested in the exact date, than I am the names that will be gone...Baker for sure, but all the coaches probably too...how about Rothschild? Any chance of Hendry going bye bye? MacPhail? Ok, there's some dreaming going on, but still...that's more important than the date for me.
  9. Agreed. He is easily the most overrated player in the game. I'll go one step further; he's the most overrated player in all of sports. *cough*BrettFavre*cough* :D I kid, I kid.... Kinda.... 8-[
  10. Totally agree, and have thought so for quite some time. I love when the Bears play the Falcons. That was my favorite game last season.
  11. If this result pans out, the Saints will be in first place in the NFC South. Crazy. It won't last...but since my brother and nephew are Saints fans, I'm happy that they will enjoy this for awhile. I'm rooting for them to do well. I'm a big Brees fan...being from Purdue and all.
  12. No way, man. The Cardinals are hurting, it's not the Cardinals team that went to the WS two years ago. The Cubs have had far more ridiculously embarrassing seasons, moments, decades. Hell, we're working on a century. At least Card fans wouldn't really be able to mention ' 69 though would they?
  13. It's only going to take around what...83-84 wins to win this division. Horrible.

  15. Heh...maybe if they weren't 0-3. Didn't think so either. But I wonder if they would even talk. Despite the hot start, I'm not sure Angelo would be all that keen on leaving Orton as the backup to Rex right now. I have to believe Tampa stills wants to salvage something out of this season, which was supposed to be a playoff season. I don't think Angelo would do that. As great as Rex has played, he's still never completed a full season. How about a 4th Rd pick for Orton? :P You don't think you could get more for a QB that won 10 games last year??

  17. This week should be about as close to a playoff simulation as you can get.
  18. I agree that they did some things right, but they sure did some things wrong. The tackling was horrible. There's really no way around that. They took a long time to adjust to Minnesota's blitzes, though they did adjust by the time we needed it at the end. And although some of the penalties can be attributed to poor officiating, they really need to make sure those don't happen. I just hope that they come out a little more crisp all around on Sunday night.
  19. Yipe! Peter king has the Bears ranked #1!
  20. I'm hoping that this week was a bit of a wake up call to the Bears that they need to be sharp out there on the field, or they're very beatable. I think the Bears definitely have the talent to win every game this season (16-0! WOO!) but they have to want it, and push for it. I'll say 13-3 this season...not ready to predict this weeks game though.
  21. I think they scrape this one out, but I'm not overly confident about it. I'm afraid of our pass defense getting torched.
  22. Kudos to those keeping up that schedule!
  23. Comments from Jeremy Shockey about the Seahawks, in the middle of a rant that included criticizing the Giants coaching... I hope the Bears are ready for that...
