  1. I'm experiencing withdrawal symptoms.
  2. The Yankees wouldn't need to trade Arod for Aram though...they can wait till Aram opts out and just sign him outright if they wanted him, then trade Arod for even more.
  3. Actually they're 2nd to last...the Texans are last. But your point stands.
  4. http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5982166 Foxsports.com has a group called the Football Outsiders that does a "Defense-adjusted Value Over Average" formula to rank the teams each week. The Bears are 5th. But the Vikings are ranked below the Lions at #23! Also the Saints are 31st!
  5. Yeah, he just wasn't on TV, as an ESPN employee, like he will be tonight.
  6. Who'd have thought a month ago that this game would be a matchup of winless teams? Depressing. Chris Gamble...try not to pull any stupid lateral crap when your team is in complete control of the game this week. Thank you. If Carolina loses this I'll be inconsolable. It's not been a real great start to the football season for ya huh?
  7. The first half of this article, where Peter talks about what he went through, and thanks all the people that were there for him....well it's a really great article. http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/insider/columns/story?columnist=gammons_peter&id=2594637
  8. Bad, bad division.
  9. He'll be at Fenway Park for Wednesday Night Baseball tomorrow. He's not back full time, just when he's comfortable with it. But it'll be great to see him back. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2594245
  10. how can i find this information? if they show the bears game in columbia, i'm guessing KC might get it too. http://www.tvguide.com/listings is a pretty good place to go for customized tv listings, and should tell you what game you'll get on Sunday. Make sure you choose to Edit Location though, and it will ask you for your zip code and cable provider. EDIT: Hahaha...it figures...it shows "Teams TBA" on mine... it says bears at vikes on fox here, but the cbs game says TBA. i wonder if they'll actually show two games at the same time. might not get much done that day. Most Sundays I get an early game on both Fox and CBS.

  12. Transactions is where you post rumored transactions. Not sure why we'd need to break that up. There's already a whole lot of forums on this board.
  13. Buffalo's no pushover this year.
  14. Much easier to say that this week for Williams. They get the Packers in Detroit on Sunday. I don't say this often, but Go Packers!
  15. I don't think anyone left this game with any kind of injuries that have been announced yet.
  16. You're right...I probably overstated it.
  17. They actually moved the ball well at times, but then the Bears would come up with a big play or a turnover. And it was completely clear the Bears were beating the Lions in the individual matchups, which lead to just a slew of Lions penalties. The Lions had a couple decent runs, and seemed to connect on quite a few 10-15 yard pass plays. But with the score the way it was so early, they were bound to give up yardage eventually. Rivera also said that they played more conservatively once they had the big lead...
  18. The bolded section is what I disagree with. I think they're a pretty average team, and I don't think they have any real "strength". The defense isn't particularly imposing, and neither is the offense. They manage to do things ok and hang around. Both the Vikings and Bears have played teams that are now 0-2. Minny barely beat both of the teams they played. My personal opinion is that the Vikings are overrated, as it seems they are many years.
  19. I know it's petty, but it seemed to me that Peter spent more time giving props to the Jets for making it a game than to the Bears for destroying the Lions. Well he is in NY. But he mentioned the Bears in the main column, in the fine fifteen, and in his "thoughts"...and pretty much admitted he was wrong in his preseason selection. I'm content.
  20. Peter King gives the Bears some props this week, and so does Chris Collinsworth:
  21. Darren Sharper is confident that they will be able to slow the Bear's offense... http://www.startribune.com/510/story/683518.html
  22. Strange things happen when a team is at home and the Humpty Turf Dome is a pretty significant HFA for the Queens. That said, I think the Bears will win, but its not going to be a blowout like the first two games. I just want to mention how many people were saying this about the Lions game..."It's going to be a test"..."Defensive battle"...yadda yadda. I don't think the Vikings really have a great offense. I think we can get pressure on Johnson, and he'll throw balls away. I'm not sure what to expect out of the Bears offense. I would love to say that I have complete confidence in them putting up a bunch of points each game, but it's hard to reverse all that bad offense mojo that I've witnessed for so long. I need to see it against Minny and Seattle before I'm convinced. That said, I think the Bears win 17-3
  23. We're playing the Vikings there buddy... :)
  24. I saw that, but the website disagrees...Rex is up by .3%
  25. Methinks the Vikings might be a sleeper team this year. After watching enough of that game, I can tell you that the Panthers had that game locked up before Chris Gamble decided to throw the game away. Believe me, if there ever was a loss that could be pinned on a single player, this would be a really good example of it. Chris Collinsworth was blaming John Fox, saying he called for that pass, but I don't know if that was just assumption on Collinsworth's part.
