  1. I think his lack of faith in the Packers outweighs his Bears dislike.
  2. Peter King is still on the "Who's the QB?" "Who's the RB?" kick with the Bears, even though the rest of us know the answer to both questions... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writers/peter_king/09/07/week1/index.html
  3. We have the first Bears Super Bowl prediction from the media...(that I've seen anyway) Deion Sanders predicts Bengals over Bearsin the Super Bowl.
  4. I just don't get that...didn't he sign the original deal? He's going to be a free agent next season anyway. Sitting out does nothing but hurt him. Well, that's the point. He plans on sitting out except for the last six games so that he'll still be a FA, but the Pats won't have him for the bulk of the season. But I still say he's only really hurting himself. He's not going to get a paycheck for the games he sits out, he'll probably be benched for those last 6 games, he's going to be going into a free agent year without recent performances to sell, and he's going to look like a big crybaby.
  5. ESPN predicitions http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/preview06/news/story?id=2568742 2 people pick the Lions to win the NFC north. Schlereth picked the Vikings. The rest picked the Bears. Also, the Bears are ranked 13th in the Power Rankings. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerranking?season=2006&week=1

  7. I think Dusty mentioned something about he wanted to wait till like the 5th for some of these guys since that's when their season ended or something? I seem to remember hearing that.

Well they came to a contract agreement, not a trade compensation agreement...I think that's where NE is going to make it next to impossible for this to go down.

Hester looks great...in fact all of our return guys have looked very good. There was a guy I didn't recognize a little later in the first half that must've made about 7 Browns miss him before he went down...

More ESPN lies, this time from TMQ:
  11. Nope, because we never said they weren't still heavy favorites.

Sorry about that Raisin. The good parts were over by the time you posted anyways... :P I'm feeling much better about our WR after yesterday, although I think both Currie and Gage better be worried today. Grossman looked great. I think his passer rating was in the 130 area. Griese only had one series, but didn't get much done because he was getting a lot of pressure from the left side. The first team defense had two 3 and outs to start. And the front four was getting pressure. Overall I'm feeling much much better about the Bears today.
  13. Banedon

Well Grossman looked SO much sharper on those first two series. Currie had 2 catchable balls that he didn't come up with though. I think Davis ends up as the #2 receiver.
  14. I don't see the point? That was the Cardinals. I'm talking about the Cubs. Show me one Hendry "rehab project" that has panned out. And please don't bring up Ryan Dempster who was a flash in the pan. And as I stated I have nothing against a reclamation project as long as there is a contingency plan. Well how about first we list the Hendry rehab projects and their relative success, because they really haven't been that many I don't believe..... Ryan Dempster - moderate success until recently Wade Miller - still unknown Chad Fox - Never could recover...I believe he cost around $600k, but I could be wrong on that So if Miller pans out at all, I'd call it 2 of 3, and it wasn't like Chad Fox was counted on, or cost a lot. If anyone remembers more, please let me know...I'm not trying to ignore anything for arguments sake... Oh and please don't bring up Wood and Prior...they were injured while playing for the Cubs, and thus don't count as "reclamation projects".
  15. who says the cards are a lock for the playoffs? You think the REDS are going to pass them up to win the division? Possibly, though admittedly it doesn't look good at the moment. :( The Reds are 3 out on the win side and 6 out on the loss side, best case scenario they are 4 games out after today with 28 games to play. Through 27 games in Aug the Cardinals are 12-15 (.444) if the Cards just stay at that .444 win percent over their final 31 games the Reds have to go 18-10 (.643) to pass them. If the Cardinals play basically .500 the final month, the Reds have to win at a .714 clip (20-8 ) to pass them. Now factor in that using current W-L record the Cardinals play 28 of their final 31 games vs teams under .500 and that of the Reds final 28 games, 12 are vs teams still in the WC hunt. Thats a pretty tough row to hoe. The Reds have 13 games left against Pittsburgh and the Cubs. STL has 3 against Pitt, none against the Cubs. I agree, the Reds have put themselves in a tough spot, but too call the Cards a lock is overstating it.
  16. Banedon

Exactly. 1 1st is too much for such receiver, 2 is absurd. They're just playing nice while trying to keep him. Thirded. It's all a little dance.
  17. not a true blue then. We should hope that they win 29 in a row make the wild card and Dusty (as much as I dislike him) proves all of us wrong. Don't accuse posters of not being as much of a Cubs fan as you. This is considered a personal attack, and is against board guidelines.
  18. CNNsi's most feared NFL players. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/0608/gallery.nfl.most.feared/content.1.html Urlacher is not listed. Kreutz is #2. Joey Porter is #1.

But is it just the pick, or aren't they going to probably have to renegotiate his contract too? I mean, isn't that why Branch is upset? So they have to pay him like a free agent AND give up a second round pick? I think that's where Angelo is balking... I read $6m per year, which is essentially MM money, which is like paying two #2's number 1 money. If they were to release Branch, well then ok...then maybe you pay that thinking this is our window, lets get it done. But throwing the pick on top. Too much.

  24. Well....he wrote it. This was his explanation for Carolina over Chicago in the playoffs:
