  1. Yeah, run him out of town but save the dude that helped protect a child molester. Pedophile State University, may no act of ours bring shame.
  2. Paterno is apparently taking questions from outside his window http://s1-02.twitpicproxy.com/photos/large/443821716.jpg
  3. Looked wide open, but the punter threw a ball that made Tebow laugh.
  4. Poor, misguided Truffle.
  5. He's flying in Truffle to answer questions on his behalf.
  6. I can't believe Forte didn't score. One friggin' TD and I win my fantasy game. Oh well, at least the Bears won.
  7. Anyone know what time JoePa's presser is today and if any radio stations will carry it live? I imagine it will be short and tension filled.
  8. That was my first thought. DFW is what, maybe a 2 hour flight from Chicago and Boston would be around 4 at least? LOL. This is such a dumb argument. 2 [expletive] hours extra (if it's even that much) are going to keep you from taking a job like that?
  9. So you think if that law is changed people in PA will start reporting false sexual abuse charges in droves just because they don't like someone?
  10. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/college/chi-penn-state-ad-administrator-step-down-amid-scandal-20111106,0,7963686.story
  11. You're analogy is horrible. JoePa is far from a "middle manager" at Penn State, this was not a first or even second time allegation against Sandusky, this was not two adults, this wasn't harassment and then rape after you found out about the allegations, etc.
  12. Please please please. I don't know the comments about his family make it seem like he's hinting that he really isn't wanting to move. Guess is he stays put. If he really doesn't want to move he would cancel the Cubs interview, too.
  13. This is a steaming hunk of [expletive]. I'll agree that they didn't have the LEGAL authority to judge whether child abuse had taken place but they absolutely had the MORAL authority to do so, especially McQueary because he actually witnessed the event. And if this were the first time any allegations of this kind had been brought against Sandusky then I may be willing to cut JoePa some slack. But it was not. He failed big time here and he needs to resign immediately.
  14. Reading comprehension is hard.
  15. i guess that's the real question... what he thought happened with the investigation. did he think that the whole thing was swept under the rug by the administration? if so then i agree that he made a poor decision in not pushing for it to be investigated by police (but again, i don't think it's his place to go to the cops - he should have urged mcqueary or curley to do so). if he thought it was investigated and resolved properly, that's another story. or maybe he's just old and forgot about it. who knows. I don't care how senile he is now, this is not something you just forget about.
  16. How can you breathe with your head buried so far in the sand?
  17. Yeah, I forgot to take into consideration that OU would have to beat #2 OSU for this scenario to be possible. But a loss at home against Texas Tech is much worse than a (road?) loss to Alabama. But I don't see a scenario where a 1-loss Arkansas would be ahead of a 1-loss Alabama. They'd be the SEC champ and have a better win than any of Alabama's wins (LSU). Yes, they lost to Bama, but those two factors should supersede that, one would think. They'd only go to the SEC championship game if they were ranked higher in the BCS rankings than Alabama to begin with (IIRC, that's the SEC's tiebreaker in a scenario like this). Any of the 3 could end up being the SEC West representative if that happened. Yeah, no way they jump Bama. The Tide would be the highest of the 3 in the BCS at that point.
  18. Of course, they all made reprehensible decisions by not getting the authorities involved. As sports fans, there's only one that really matters to us though. What these guys said. And I wonder how McQueary sleeps at night. He needs to resign as well.

  20. Or LSU losing to Arkansas. No, Arkansas would just play for the title then (presuming Stanford and Okla St lost). That'd be a pretty open-and-shut case. How would Arkansas pass Oklahoma in that scenario? Or even Alabama? Arkansas would have more quality wins than OU and a much "better" loss.
  21. Because he followed the state guidelines for reporting child abuse? Great commentary as always, smack. Hold up here. Are you defending Paterno? Let me guess, you're going to act like defending joe paterno is defending sexual abuse of children. Would you like to tell me what the state guidelines are for reporting child abuse within an organization? I find it quite ironic that a guy who has always been praised for following the rules and doing things by the book is being thrown under the bus for doing that now. Full disclosure, someone close to me was systematically abused by a family member while growing up, and I work with vulnerable youths as a special olympics coach. I abhor sexual abuse of minors. No, I'm not saying that. But he could have helped prevent the abuse of countless other boys who were molested after this incident was reported to him. Forget about state guidelines. He had a MORAL duty to report this to the proper authorities. Do you really think St. JoePa would be canned for not properly following state guidelines in this case after the AD did nothing?
  22. He wasn't told that, and Sandusky had been retired for three years. So he claims. You really believe the GA told him that he witnessed Sandusky in the shower with a young boy and that JoePa didn't get any details before reporting it to the AD?

  24. Not sure how A&M is a 4.5 point favorite in Manhattan. Has anyone actually read the AG report on the Penn State scandal? I couldn't make it all the way through. Absolutely sickening. http://www.attorneygeneral.gov/uploadedFiles/Press/Sandusky-Grand-Jury-Presentment.pdf
