  1. BRILLIANT IDEA!
  2. Starting to hear some rumblings about Charlie Strong coming to A&M. Our Athletic Director Bill Byrne is about to get shanked and I've heard that the Louisville AD is a leading candidate to replace him. Supposedly UK's Mitch Barnhardt is another.
  3. He was my first thought, but I think you want to wait a couple weeks to see if the NCAA sticks him with the show cause penalty.
  4. I don't think he can do much but McNabb is clearly a better option than Collins and probably better than Enderle. Did you see McNabb play this year? At least Emberle gives you a possibility of not every pass ending up near his receivers toes. The Collins comment was hyperbole but not by a lot. McNabb had a QB rating of 84ish on the season. Remember, Minnesota was good at getting first half leads early in the season. Granted, Adrian Peterson had something to with that. If only we had a great RB.
  5. Does A&M have money for a big name coach between the Big 12 buyout and Sherman's buyout? I think Smart would be a great choice and cost effictive but he could end up like Muschamp too. Who do you consider "big name" at this point? We wouldn't have paid the nearly $5MM/year for a guy like Urban (not that I think he was ever a possibility) even without the Big 12 & Sherman buyouts. I expect us to hire Sumlin and pay him $2MM/year or close to it.
  6. I hope ASU money whips Sumlin like some are speculating. That way we can move on to Kirby Smart.
  7. Mack is the best damn recruiter in college football.
  8. Sherman is gone.
  9. Are they going to be making a run at Smart or an SEC coach in general? The two names I've heard most are Smart and Sumlin. We shall see. wouldn't fedora be the no-brainer? didn't he grow up in college station? He did grow up there. Brother was a star baseball player for A&M IIRC. His name is out there, too. I'm getting quite frustrated with the powers that be. They either need can Sherman or issue a press release confirming that he isn't going anywhere ASAP. All of this uncertainty is horrible for recruiting and Sleepy actually has a very good class committed right now.

  11. Don't be surprised if Mike Sherman gets fired tomorrow.
  12. Has anyone else discovered this yet? I stumbled across it a few minutes ago and I'm amazed at the amount of great info it has, especially for a free app.
  13. They're good.
  14. Oh I'm sure these rumors aren't anything new and I was quick to dismiss them when they first popped up yesterday. But there seems to be more & more credible evidence in this particular case.
  15. Oh yeah, he's the one that threw the very questionable personal foul flag on A&M on the last drive that won the game for Texas on Thanksgiving night. I'm not saying he cost us the game, but the evidence is disturbing.
  16. wait, what? Some Internet sleuths have been doing some work over the past 24 hours or so. Seems a Big 12 official who graduated from Tulsa had pictures on Facebook (the account has since been deleted) of himself wearing a Texas sweatshirt. They have also found a Google images view of his house and parked in the driveway is a car with a Longhorns sticker on it. Furthermore, it appears that he has been posting on a Texas A&M message board quite often about officiating calls and when talking about one particular call in a Texas-Kansas State game referred to the Horns as "we".
  17. So is it a big deal if an official posts photographs of himself on the Internet wearing a team's garb when he actually officiates games where that school is playing? What about if he posts on a message board referring to that team as "we" even though he didn't actually go to school there? Would that be cause for concern?
  18. 1. Who said anything about A&M? 2. Even we beat Iowa State in Ames.
  19. What impressive wins does OSU have?
  20. A team with a loss to unranked Iowa State has a better resume than a team whose only loss is by 3 points in OT to #1 LSU?
  21. The BCS should match up the best teams in the country, in my opinion. Just because one division of one conference is loaded should not mean that a lesser deserving team gets priority. LSU and Alabama are clearly the 2 best teams in the country. Why should they not play for the National Championship? Oklahoma State lost to [expletive] Iowa State. That alone should prevent them from getting a shot. I would have been OK with Oregon getting another shot at LSU had they not lost to USC. Virginia Tech doesn't really have any impressive wins. Same goes for Stanford. They have some good wins, but both lost to their best opponent. Houston's first game against a ranked opponent will be this weekend against #24 Southern Miss. Alabama is the only logical choice at this point.
  22. Are you saying that Bama shouldn't even be in the BCS or are you only referring to a rematch with LSU in the title game?
  23. Who?
  24. The SEC should be interesting for them. We have the talent to be decent in the SEC. Unfortunately our head coach has a knack for turning Top 10 talent into a .500 team.
