    What does where I went to school have to do with this situation?

    I had tickets to see Texas A&M play at Nebraska but after the Cubs beat Atlanta to move on to the ALCS I sold the football tickets and planned a trip home. Even if I wouldn't have tickets for any of the games I had to be in Chicago while the Cubs were playing in the World Series. I was sitting at home watching Game 6 getting mentally ready for the road trip in a few days when everything fell apart. I felt awful but still expected to win game 7, especially after Woody homered early on. My sister & mom had to rush my dad to the hospital during Game 7 and he wouldn't let me come with. He was a bigger Cub fan that I was so he didn't want me to miss the game. He said he wanted me to text updates to my sister so he could keep up with the game. I was so depressed after that series. I still made my trip to Chicago to visit family and even spent some time in a mostly deserted Wrigleyville the day the WS started. I never saw a single pitch of the World Series that year. Only time in my life that happened. I just couldn't bear to watch it.

    What drama? The fact that he missed a preseason game? Not him missing a pre-season game but all the responses/stories coming from that.

    Alabama's defense has given up a total of 7 TD's through 5 games so far this season. 6 of those were to A&M. That is crazy.

    Such an awful finish last night. And then to flip over to see the Cardinals clinch right afterwards really made me sick.

    How do you explain situations like the Cleveland Indians where they went from a 90+ loss team one season to a 90+ win without making any major changes other than the manager? They have to be at least part of the reason for that, right? For the record I'm not saying I believe any specific manager will make us 30 wins better but there do seem to be examples where a managerial change makes a big difference. Is it a matter of a bad manager making the team worse as opposed to a good manager making the team better?     Now? You wanted something else before? I wouldn't have minded seeing him complete the no hitter. There is still a game 5 for the Pirates to win. You haven't done anything right today, have you? Everybody here hates me anyway, so I might as well root for the kid while he had a no no going. School pride and all that jazz.
