  1. How do you explain situations like the Cleveland Indians where they went from a 90+ loss team one season to a 90+ win without making any major changes other than the manager? They have to be at least part of the reason for that, right? For the record I'm not saying I believe any specific manager will make us 30 wins better but there do seem to be examples where a managerial change makes a big difference. Is it a matter of a bad manager making the team worse as opposed to a good manager making the team better? Ummm.......Because they had a lot of guys have better years on offense and pitching than the year before Indians 2012 offense: http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2012&month=0&season1=2012&ind=0&team=5&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0 Indians 2012 pitching: http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2012&month=0&season1=2012&ind=0&team=5&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0 Indians 2013 offense: http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2013&month=0&season1=2013&ind=0&team=5&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0 Indians 2013 pitching: http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=pit&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2013&month=0&season1=2013&ind=0&team=5&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0 Ok, do the manager & his staff not have anything to do with that?

  3. Now? You wanted something else before? I wouldn't have minded seeing him complete the no hitter. There is still a game 5 for the Pirates to win. You haven't done anything right today, have you? Everybody here hates me anyway, so I might as well root for the kid while he had a no no going. School pride and all that jazz.

  5. Well now that the no hitter (and shutout) are gone I hope the Pirates win the game and send the Cardinals home for the season.
  6. It kills me to see a fellow Aggie pitching so great for the [expletive] Cardinals.
  7. So I'm not allowed to answer a direct question to me?
  8. but if we win 3-0 doesn't that mean that Trestman's "CFL offense" sucked? There's only 1 stat I care about. It's the score on the scoreboard.
  9. Do we have to spend all of it on one player? At a quick glance, Al Harrington wouldn''t have been bad. David Lee? Joe Johnson?
  10. Who gives a [expletive] if he is "overpaid?" (in reality, the game's best players are underpaid thanks to this cap nonsense). What good does it do you (or the team) if he's making $4M/year less or something? Or do you think he "deserves" even less than that? Do the words "salary cap" mean anything to you? Yes, but I'm not sure you quite understand what it means. I know it means if we hadn't overpaid Boozer than we could have spent that money more wisely elsewhere. I realize there's nothing we can do about that now. That doesn't mean I shouldn't be upset that he's overpaid.
  11. I don't care if we win games 51-50 or 3-0. Just win games.
  12. They went 10-6. How often does a team with that record not make the playoffs?

  14. So you think Boozer is worth his contract? He's not a bad player but he is definitely overpaid. I don't have time to dig up the stats or even know if they are available but the dude always seems to disappear in the big games, especially the playoffs. That is my biggest issue with him. I realize I am being meatballish here, but I wish he was gone so we could move on. But I'm not saying we should amnesty him or anything like that. That doesn't make sense right now.
  15. They outgained the Saints by over 100 yards. Had only one turnover, had a 200 yard receiver, and had a QB with a 128.1 rating. (Though admittedly QBR tells a different story on Jay.) You stat nerds are cute. Do you live in Ted Cruz' congressional district? I don't know. Is that a magical land where people care more about the final score than which team had better stats?

  17. And what [expletive] good did that do us? Again, decide what point you want to argue. We aren't talking about wins and losses. We're talking about the offense you found worthy to mock. My point is I want to [expletive] win games. I thought that was the point of playing them. No, that wasn't your point. Your point was to crap on the "CFL coach's offense...lol". Because they put up a whopping 18 points.

  20. After 5 games it should be #1!!!! So we're barely above average and that's supposed to be exciting to me?
  21. Who said anything about "full effect"?
  22. Immediately? That's your fault then. 5 games is immediately?
  23. Wait, what? You were whining about the offense. Now you're changing to the defense? Decide what point you want to make. Let me clarify. I expected the defense to take step backward with the coaching change. I was hoping it would be a small one that would easily be covered up by the marked improvement in the offense.
  24. Okay, so why are you harping on the Trestman's offense? Because it hasn't been a huge upgrade which I thought was the point in bringing in an offensive minded head coach. We won 10 games last year with the defense being the driving force. Now we throw all the focus on offense but we aren't going to improve on last season, it appears. I realize there is a long way to go but do you think we're going to win 10+ games with this team? So you expect a "huge" improvement on 10 wins in one season or else it is a failure? It's been 5 games. If you had reasonable expectations coming in, I do not think you could have expected the offense to do anything more than it has done through 5 games. The decision to hire an offensive minded head coach was not based solely no the desire to have the 2013 team win more games than the 2012 team. The decision was to maximize their ability to succeed on a regular basis. I expected a huge upgrade on offense, which I haven't seen. And isn't the point to win more games?

Way too much throwing off the wrong foot and forcing passes into double & triple coverages.
