Good question. In the end it doesn't really matter what anyone posts here but I care a lot about my alma mater and don't want it to be portrayed negatively anywhere. I assume most people feel that way about their school. I know I go overboard at times (probably most of the time) but that's just how I am. It's not specific to A&M even though that's pretty much all anyone on NSBB knows about me. I'm like that most of the time about everything I love and feel passionate about.
I find the notion that you care more about what people think of your school's football program than what they think of you absolutely fascinating. I mean it's hardly a unique phenomenon (most common among soccer hooligans and southerners), but it's just so bizarre. 1. Why would I care what anonymous internet jackasses think of me? Do you take this place that seriously that you are concerned how other posters view you? 2. I am not a southerner. I was born & raised in the Chicago suburbs.
Since I'm the only A&M fan on NSBB that pretty much relegates me to "one man A&M Homer Defense Force" in the eyes of posters here. And to clarify, I meant that I don't really care what posters here think of ME. People are going to hate A&M and wish bad things upon us because our QB has acted like a spoiled rich kid this offseason. To blame that on me is laughable.
Interesting read on Joe Schad's previous attempt at breaking an NCAA scandal. http://www.nevertoyieldfoundation.com/2011/sanctions-coming-in-newton-saga/ Hmm, could other college athletes be signing autographs for money too? Surely ESPN will be all over this in the near future. http://bustedcoverage.com/2013/08/07/johnny-manziel-autograph-dealer-has-19-jadeveon-clowney-items-on-ebay/
OK, now I'm starting to get worried about his eligibility for this season. http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/9544137/broker-says-johnny-manziel-took-7500-autographing-helmets
I hate playing defense. I'm more of a rec league chucker style. The truth is that Johnny is most likely guilty. The NCAA just doesn't have enough evidence to prove it so he will play out this season and then declare for the NFL Draft.
OK, that could be any hotel room. He's obviously guilty. My bad. That picture he's signing looks to be from the SMU game which was the 2nd game of the season.
how on earth could you possibly know that as far as i can tell, google doesn't have a reference to a hilton in lubbock, anyway, so i dunno what he's talking about When did SouthSideRyan change his username?
how on earth could you possibly know that That came from a former player who spent the night before home games at the hotel for 4 years. I trusted his evaluation of the picture.
One thing is for sure. No matter what happens with the NCAA investigation most people will just assume he was guilty anyway, which is a shame. The media built him up and now they're trying to tear him down. I wonder who'll be the next victim.
