  1. Do we have to spend all of it on one player? At a quick glance, Al Harrington wouldn''t have been bad. David Lee? Joe Johnson?
  2. Who gives a [expletive] if he is "overpaid?" (in reality, the game's best players are underpaid thanks to this cap nonsense). What good does it do you (or the team) if he's making $4M/year less or something? Or do you think he "deserves" even less than that? Do the words "salary cap" mean anything to you? Yes, but I'm not sure you quite understand what it means. I know it means if we hadn't overpaid Boozer than we could have spent that money more wisely elsewhere. I realize there's nothing we can do about that now. That doesn't mean I shouldn't be upset that he's overpaid.
  3. I don't care if we win games 51-50 or 3-0. Just win games.
  4. They went 10-6. How often does a team with that record not make the playoffs?

  6. So you think Boozer is worth his contract? He's not a bad player but he is definitely overpaid. I don't have time to dig up the stats or even know if they are available but the dude always seems to disappear in the big games, especially the playoffs. That is my biggest issue with him. I realize I am being meatballish here, but I wish he was gone so we could move on. But I'm not saying we should amnesty him or anything like that. That doesn't make sense right now.
  7. They outgained the Saints by over 100 yards. Had only one turnover, had a 200 yard receiver, and had a QB with a 128.1 rating. (Though admittedly QBR tells a different story on Jay.) You stat nerds are cute. Do you live in Ted Cruz' congressional district? I don't know. Is that a magical land where people care more about the final score than which team had better stats?

  9. And what [expletive] good did that do us? Again, decide what point you want to argue. We aren't talking about wins and losses. We're talking about the offense you found worthy to mock. My point is I want to [expletive] win games. I thought that was the point of playing them. No, that wasn't your point. Your point was to crap on the "CFL coach's offense...lol". Because they put up a whopping 18 points.

  12. After 5 games it should be #1!!!! So we're barely above average and that's supposed to be exciting to me?
  13. Who said anything about "full effect"?
  14. Immediately? That's your fault then. 5 games is immediately?
  15. Wait, what? You were whining about the offense. Now you're changing to the defense? Decide what point you want to make. Let me clarify. I expected the defense to take step backward with the coaching change. I was hoping it would be a small one that would easily be covered up by the marked improvement in the offense.
  16. Okay, so why are you harping on the Trestman's offense? Because it hasn't been a huge upgrade which I thought was the point in bringing in an offensive minded head coach. We won 10 games last year with the defense being the driving force. Now we throw all the focus on offense but we aren't going to improve on last season, it appears. I realize there is a long way to go but do you think we're going to win 10+ games with this team? So you expect a "huge" improvement on 10 wins in one season or else it is a failure? It's been 5 games. If you had reasonable expectations coming in, I do not think you could have expected the offense to do anything more than it has done through 5 games. The decision to hire an offensive minded head coach was not based solely no the desire to have the 2013 team win more games than the 2012 team. The decision was to maximize their ability to succeed on a regular basis. I expected a huge upgrade on offense, which I haven't seen. And isn't the point to win more games?

I realize there is a long way to go but do you think we're going to win 10+ games with this team? God forbid I say something negative about Saint Jay, but he's still making the same mistakes. Way too much throwing off the wrong foot and forcing passes into double & triple coverages.
  18. I don't want it to seem like I am defending the previous coaching staff, because they were horrible. But it seems like whatever improvements we've seen on offense due to the change in coaching staff has been offset by the defense getting worse.
  19. Boozer is really good, man. What about him? Still with this? I'm just trying to fit in around here. We're supposed to love Boozer, right?
  20. They had Greg Olsen and couldn't do anything with him. Lovie couldn't coach offense, and couldn't hire a coach that could coach offense. There's no reason to assume what you're saying is true. Mike Martz refused to use a TE. Was he the OC last year? The biggest problem with the offense last year was the horrific OL play. You don't believe that fixing that issue would have made the offense better without any other changes (taking Bennett out of the equation)?
  21. I would not even consider assuming that. There's a reason the people who ran that offense are not running NFL offenses today. Maybe they should go coach in the CFL.
  22. They improved the OL and added Martellus Bennett. The offense would have been improved with the same idiots running the team from last year.
  23. EB dropped two [expletive] passes in a row that hit him in the hands.
  24. I really love this amazing high powered offense the CFL guy has brought to the Bears. He's a [expletive] wizard, I tell you.
