Yuck Manziel is a spoiled, petulant, immature child, with serious anger issues, and parents who enable his bad behavior which causes him to handle his fame very poorly. Does he really need bodyguards? Ridiculous. It's really tiresome to hear "[person] is 20 -- he/she is just a kid!" as if it's an excuse for immature behavior. There are plenty of 20-year olds who are mature enough to not engage in that sort of stupid [expletive]. We usually referred to those people as "nerds" when I was at A&M. I don't really see the correlation between not being a spoiled brat and being a nerd, but it must be an A&M thing. I thought you were referring to his partying "issues" that were discussed so I was making a joke. There is no excuse for throwing golf clubs, acting like a baby, etc.

I highly doubt he needs or uses bodyguards 99% of the time. There didn't seem to be any with him when he had beers thrown at him as he was getting kicked out of the frat party in Austin. His psycho dad seems to love drama and attention. And his enabling of Johnny is the root cause of most of Johnny's issues.

I predict he's back in Iowa within a month. Hasn't Sveum said that part of the reason for the Soriano trade was to give Lake a chance to play everyday for the rest of the season to show what he's got?

Just heard the news. I'm stunned. Feel horrible for the kid. He finished the season fine so that's why I thought the concussion talk was being overblown. Obviously I was wrong. Not the first time and won't be the last. -

What was the stat Len had last night? Junior Lake is the first Cubs player to reach base (or was it get a hit?) in his first 5 games as a Cub since Steve Lake in 1983.

I don't keep up with the minors too much so I was surprised to hear Friday night that Lake had never played CF before. Looking at his stats he played 6 games in RF for Iowa but the rest of his career has been in the IF, with a majority of that time at SS. I have no idea what his glove is like. Where does he project in the major league lineup? RF? CF? LF? 2B? Hopefully he continues to hit well and makes Theo & Jed think before sending him back down when people start coming off the DL.

Rangers fans are under the same delusion wrt Olt that many Cubs fans were about Brett Jackson last year. Most of the Rangers fan I talk to have soured on him. This guy knows his stuff.
