  1. I'm here too but I'll normally have my mlb.tv full screen. LOL at the Nat's announcers insinuating that DeRosa will have to sit when Soriano come back because Reed Johnson is so hot. Someone needs to send them a memo that informs them he is the cubs second baseman in addition to utility man.
  2. Mine is working fine, maybe try logging out and back in. There's no telling with MLB.tv
  3. will it? Accuweather.com says theres a chance for a 4 o'clock thunderstorm but otherwise it's partly sunny. I don't think there will be any problem getting this one in. I apologize, I was looking at tomorrows start time of 1:30 and thinking it was todays start time. This losing thing sucks, let's go Z!
  4. happy birthday, my wife's is tomorrow. if they don't win on her birthday she gets no present.

  6. I busted out laughing at Derosa. I love him. (/mancrush)
  7. Ehhh...this is just the Cubs fan in us all trying to rationalize two losses. The bullpen will come around about as much as dempster will get worse. I feel very good about this club's chances this year.
  8. Hmmm, well I would like to have had seen those two flipped. I think I'll stop trying to predict what Lou will do.
  9. What are you talking about??? I was not the one that said he had the worst day ever, and that wasn't even what the BR measure said either. It's a modified Bill James statistic to analyze how "good" or "bad" a player did in a day and takes into account strikeouts, GIDP and even errors. It's just a statistic from ONE game and I thought that it was interesting and tied into what was being discussed. The only reason I brought it up was because I was wondering if Lou would have a knee jerk reaction to theriot like he seems to with pie and hill. Geez, this Cedeno v. Theriot battle has got people really riled up!
  10. That works for me. However, there's no way Lou bats Ronny at 2 and Theriot at 8. It'll be the other way around if that's who's in the lineup. I wouldn't be so sure. If Lou has proven one thing, its that he jumps to conclusions quickly. Theriot had a bad day yesterday and his last impression of Cedeno was hitting monstrous grand slams. In this case it's the right conclusion, just wrong reasoning. I'm thinking Cedeno hits 7th or higher. That said, Fontenot will probably be leading off with Theriot right behind him. ETA: According to BR's "Batting Game Score" Theriot didn't just have a bad day yesterday, he had the worst day in the majors.
  11. That's so stupid. I like the draft but they drag it out so much that I can barely watch it. Why don't they just do a pick a day after the Superbowl? That way they can drag it out all summer and ESPN can completely ignore baseball and talk patriots, brady and "spygate" (vomit).
  12. lol, I made it my desktop about 5 seconds after I saw that post and scrolled down to yours ETA: Look at all the blurred fans, I haven't seen one that is not tracking the ball.
  13. I completely agree with what he is saying, but if he's complaining about people making a decision in 200ABs, he's making a decision on Pie's usage in 20 games. If Pie continue to get 1 start per week by this time next month, then there is a problem. For once, I tend to side with Cubs coaching/management, because since Felix has been worked closely with, he's 3-6, with a HR. Yeah, a lot of others around here were acting like they were benching pie permanently until he was sent back to Iowa. And although I cannot fault anyone for feeling that way given the Cubs' handling of prospects recently, I never felt like that was Lou's intentions. When Bruce said they were sitting him for a few games and giving him extra help to shorten his swing, I actually thought it was a good idea (assuming of course he would be getting steady ABs within a week or two).
  14. Well apparently he has turned his life around and doesn't even drink anymore. But yeah, still a terrible trade for the Vikes.
  15. Thanks for the link. Judging strictly from the reaction of the dugout, lou in particular, you would have thought that would have won the game for us, not 3 more insurance runs. I think that was the happiest I've been for a single player's AB since Jacque was like 0-13 to start his career with the cubs and then hit a homer against the cards on Sunday Night Baseball.
  16. Figueroa is the type of pitcher that would give the 07 cubs fits, I'm crossing my fingers.
  17. I would be happy with a 50-50 split between the two until somebody wins the job hands down, probably Cedeno.
  18. Me too, except I'm 6-9 (Eastern). Probably get back around 9:30 and start it from the top with my DVR. I don't know how I lived before HD and DVR...on second thought maybe I didn't know what living was then?
  19. Apparently his name is Tejeda and not Tejada too. The ESPN guy said that is what his birth certificate states and that it wasn't reported at the press conference.
  20. Ron just said he didn't look like he was hurting in the slightest. Current hopeful explanation is simply to give Ward some garbage time ABs. I hope this is true. The note at the end of the live box score is very worrisome: " CHICAGO FIRST BASEMAN DERREK LEE LEFT THE GAME IN THE TOP OF THE SIXTH INNING WITH AN UNDISCLOSED INJURY. " Why is it that there is nobody in baseball that can give injury updates to the press like in football and basketball? Is it that hard to have one guy stick his head in the dugout for a sec. and ask the trainer if the star player is hurt?
  21. I emailed them one time to tell them so. I guess I don't have that much pull.
  22. Well this is the most frustrating game I've watched in a while.
  23. I truly expect Murton to get the call up tonight
