  1. Just moving him over doesn't accomplish much. You are then putting it all on one batter to drive him in with a deep fly. I'd rather Soto try and drive him in with a hit. Yeah, I agree, but a little patience would have been nice there. Ideally you would like to get a pitch out over the plate that you can drive to left and, at the very least, move the runner over.
  2. LOL at the reds swinging at first 2 pitches after Lilly couldn't hit the broad side of a barn last inning.
  3. That was the dumbest thing I have seen since Epatt was called up.

  5. I think it's at or around 70. Exactly 70 thanks
  6. Yeah, what about Mike Fontenot says leadoff hitter?
  7. What's Volquez' pc? Gotta be pushing 80.
  8. It's a rant because you said a variation of the same thing about 10 times. We get it, you're not happy that Z was still in there but there's no need to keep repeating it over and over. As far as the Z question, you answered your own question with the bolded - it's a routine. And as far as PAP, my basic knowledge of them tells me that they don't start until you go over 100 pitches and, I believe, it's ((# of pitches) - 100) ^3. Z threw 101 pitches which would add up to a whopping 1 PAP. It's not that big of a deal. I'm being told that it's better to let Zambrano throw over 100 pitches because he's used to it and that makes no sense to me at all. There's a long list of reasons why he shouldn't have been out there and just how risky the decision was is completely irrelevant. Piniella is managing a roster of 25 guys and not a video game. He shouldn't be making these kinds of decisions. Over 100 pitches = 101 to infinity. Zambrano tonight = 101
  9. NO way Johnson or any other cubs CF makes that catch.
  10. I haven't been able to watch since the last inning or so, obviously Z has been productive, but has he had really good stuff? What's he topped out at?
  11. I'm probably grasping at straws, but does anybody else think that maybe Murton is really close to being dealt to the Rays or another team? I'm trying to rationalize a stupid decision I guess...and normally when it comes to the Cubs it's pointless.
  12. Lohse, Welleymeyer, Looper and some dude named Brad Thompson :banghead:
  13. C'mon man, I agree people shouldn't be ripping him and he should be able to work through his struggles, but when you look as lost as he does right now, he's gonna take at least a little heat. No, Felix did not look good out there today. He was also playing his first full game since April 4th. Even the most irrational of "Felix Pie = Corey Patterson"s out there would agree that a guy needs more than 1 start every 10 games in order to be in any sort of groove. Yeah and I understand that completely (bolded). But "cancer infiltrating the team" is a little overboard IMO, it's a game thread and theres a lot of spontaneous frustrations posted. Maybe I'm wrong and most people here want him demoted or traded, but thats not the way I see it. This argument has been going on all over the board, it's nost just spontaneous frustration. People see a speedy CF and want him to be a slappy base stealer. When he has the audacity to strike out, or have a bad week, they want him out of town on a rail Fair enough. I just haven't had the same impression from the board overall but maybe I haven't paid enough attention. I'm out, nice win Cubs!

  16. He threw 5 pitches. 4 balls and a home run. I don't want to lose this game and therefore don't have a problem. But I think Howery should be the one in though.
  17. What the hell has happened to wuertz? So much for the confidence builder.
