  1. They were really thorough with the Rock Shoulder's description. I felt like showering after reading it.
  2. haha just kidding It's here: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-TGiFWrauUvI/U6iN_js2IWI/AAAAAAAAEQo/7P4x7qLOZtA/s1600/20140622_ALB_0049_DH.jpg
  3. You mean the one I just made my AV?
  4. They got a solid starting caliber player for next year for 2 months of Lester on a last place team and a jonny gomes that has been awful. Why is it amazingly terrible? Because I think Lester is worth more than 1.2 years of a marginally above average OF? Two months, or around uhhh 10-12 starts, of Lester? To be fair, it depends more on the other offers on the table for Lester than Lester's remaining starts. So, it's the value of Cespedes vs. "the value of other offers", for 10-12 Lester starts.

  6. Yes! JD called it! Anybody else catch the double-index-finger-point thing he did at the camera in the dugout after the HR? Haven't seen that since circa Jacque Jones. In fact, it's my favorite memory of Jacque Jones.
  7. I think Edwards is a pretty safe bet.
  8. This is from January of this year, but I have no clue to the validity of the site. He was named the Dodger's minor league pitcher of the week last month, FWIW. http://www.chatsports.com/los-angeles-dodgers/a/2014-Top-50-Dodgers-Prospects-No-3140-2-9202175

  10. Really cool story. Thanks for posting that. Will be an interesting guy to keep an eye on.
  11. I'm going to guess Evergreen Park Of course, Pierre led off the season with a triple (I think?) and I was convinced it was the greatest trade ever. Perhaps not.Yep. For some reason, remember it like yesterday. A sharp grounder past the 1B into the RF corner. I'll inevitably forget something important to remember tomorrow, per usual.
  12. He's been reported as one of the FA pitchers the Cubs were interested in this offseason. Any trade would make it that much more expensive to sign him.
  13. I'm really hoping a contending team buys into the Bonifacio hype. He's come off the DL red hot like he started the year. Not to say he wouldn't have value to a team in contention, but he's clearly playing over his head, currently. If the FO could get a fairly intriguing prospect for Scott Hairston, I have to think Bonifacio could net something interesting enough.
  14. Saw Jaxon was pulled after 4 and *only* giving up 3 runs and thought maybe he was somehow traded. Then I turned on the TV and saw him looking all sad in the dugout. I guess it's possible they told him he was traded and now he's sad because he's still waiting on that first hug.
  15. Plus I don't think one person has even said this is a bad deal for them. They got a really good defensive backup and it (probably) cost them very, very little. The Cubs save a few bucks (obligatory PTR joke) and maybe got a lottery-ticket-type prospect. But he was gone anyway at the end of the year so anything of value is better than nothing. It was a win for both clubs.
  16. I'm just busting your chops
  17. I laughed and wondered if Kyle would be a part of that before I clicked the link... http://media.giphy.com/media/5ilsskakMwGT6/giphy.gif
  18. Right click the gif itself and then copy the image URL. Then hit reply in this thread, click on the "Img" button and paste the contents between img and /img

  20. Nobody has one up and we are under an hour till first pitch. Miller is making his first start since 7/10 so he could rest. You can't sleep your life away, Shelby (big ups to Wu Tang). Let's hope he still sucks. Arrieta was not himself last go-round and gave up 3 runs. He hopes to no-hit the opposition through the first 5-8 innings, per usual. Go Cubs!
  21. Which is my point. The system lacked high-end MiLB talent. There wasn't enough there to supplement anything other than going out and buying talent to win games (at least enough to contend for the PO). Which, seems to have been impossible given finances. If Theo has purposely been cheap for years then I'm as pissed as anyone. But, I don't believe that to be the case. If he had a payroll afforded to him as Hendry did, then I think it would have been truly "dual fronts" from the beginning. But in the end, it's one person's opinion versus another. Right or wrong they are where they are. Which is an extremely cheap team for years with money to spend on FA even with financial constraints. And a "wave" of prospects that doesn't rely on any particular player becoming a star.
