  1. Being a 6'10" lefty who throws 96 might have something to do with it. Being a 6'10 lefty who throws 96 got him a 4.21 ERA in High A ball. How does a 4.21 ERA in High A turn into a 1.93 ERA at the major league level one year later? No one saw this coming. Hendry certainly didn't. Did you say to yourself, "Deeg, that Sisco and his 4+ ERA in A ball sure looks good, I bet he would be the best middle reliever on the team"? Of course you didnt. I didnt want him unprotected either, but I dont see how you could predict such major league success so soon. No - but given that we're falling all over ourselves praising a prospect almost five years older (Hill) for what he's doing in AA, that's really beside the point. We could have kept Sisco and let him beat the crap out of FSL hitters, and yes - I did think he had a good chance of being an impact pitcher. Huge lefties with great arms don't exactly grow on trees. I'm talking about this year. No one thought he would not suck in the majors THIS YEAR.

  4. Man, the NL has a monopoly on the first basemen. NL Pujols, Helton, Thome, Lee, Delgado AL Ortiz(not really a first baseman), Sexon (Rob Deer 2.0), Teixeira, Morneau (He and Tex are going to jump Lee, Thome and Delgado soon enough. Tex may be better than Delgado now), Hafner? (DH), Sweeny?
  5. Count me in, if just for the circling the wagons comment. When do the initial numbers come out?
  6. I really just dont understand how the hell he is doing so well, but I am happy for him.
  7. that 1000+ ops is negated by his lack of hitting .300 he sucks guyz come on whats wrong with this am i taking crazy pills or something
  8. Sisco throws a 41 pitch 7th inning, 3 walks, 2 strikeouts, no runs.
  9. Hey, I'm down, this sounds like it will be a fun watch.
  10. Yamahama, look out apartment.
  11. Man, the last thing I was worried about this season was whether or not Sisco would have a sub 2 era, IN THE MAJORS.
  12. But he's white...and it was cold, the man was in his element!
  13. can we never mention zambrano and ishmael in the same sentence ever again?
  14. i still blame umfan
  15. yeah but too bad none of those homeruns was a sacrifice fly, huh? Yeah, he's garbage.
  16. I heard that Eric Patterson once killed a man for not signaling before switching lanes. He's a true american.
  17. absolutely no reason to double switch with Macias instead of Jason or Hairston. What the hell.
  18. Thats funny, cause I get a similar feeling that some people here will have posted ad nauseam "Macias Still Sucks"; "Fire Dusty NOW" when Dusty has his first 4 game losing streak. I guess I should just wait until the end of the season when Dusty delievers the 3rd straight winning season (something which hasn't been done in my lifetime) and then respond to those "Fire Dusty" comments. Yeah, Dusty pitched pretty well yesterday didnt he? Not to mention all the homeruns he hit.
  19. i dont even care anymore, Neifi is garbage but he has inexplicably hit ever since he got here. I will stop trashing him and Dusty for playing him until the alien leaves his body and goes back to his motherworld.
  20. link him to this thread
  21. Speaking of which, how much did those underpants cost you? They came with the jockstrap.
  22. If you think that is unhealthy, you should see my shrine to all things AJ Burnett.
  23. Dusty has already said that Blanco will catch Prior. With the way Prior pitched to Barrett last season, I cant really argue it.
  24. My projected lineup: Hairston Corey Nomar Burnitz Lee Holla Neifi  Blanco  Prior Sounds about right. Prior might have the most power in the lower third of our order today :P It's a shame we've got the France Lineup going against Peavy during Prior's first start, you'd like to see him get some run support to start the year off, but who knows?
