  1. that 1000+ ops is negated by his lack of hitting .300 he sucks guyz come on whats wrong with this am i taking crazy pills or something
  2. Sisco throws a 41 pitch 7th inning, 3 walks, 2 strikeouts, no runs.
  3. Hey, I'm down, this sounds like it will be a fun watch.
  4. Yamahama, look out apartment.
  5. Man, the last thing I was worried about this season was whether or not Sisco would have a sub 2 era, IN THE MAJORS.
  6. But he's white...and it was cold, the man was in his element!
  7. can we never mention zambrano and ishmael in the same sentence ever again?
  8. i still blame umfan
  9. yeah but too bad none of those homeruns was a sacrifice fly, huh? Yeah, he's garbage.
  10. I heard that Eric Patterson once killed a man for not signaling before switching lanes. He's a true american.
  11. absolutely no reason to double switch with Macias instead of Jason or Hairston. What the hell.
  12. Thats funny, cause I get a similar feeling that some people here will have posted ad nauseam "Macias Still Sucks"; "Fire Dusty NOW" when Dusty has his first 4 game losing streak. I guess I should just wait until the end of the season when Dusty delievers the 3rd straight winning season (something which hasn't been done in my lifetime) and then respond to those "Fire Dusty" comments. Yeah, Dusty pitched pretty well yesterday didnt he? Not to mention all the homeruns he hit.
  13. i dont even care anymore, Neifi is garbage but he has inexplicably hit ever since he got here. I will stop trashing him and Dusty for playing him until the alien leaves his body and goes back to his motherworld.
  14. link him to this thread
  15. Speaking of which, how much did those underpants cost you? They came with the jockstrap.
  16. If you think that is unhealthy, you should see my shrine to all things AJ Burnett.
  17. Dusty has already said that Blanco will catch Prior. With the way Prior pitched to Barrett last season, I cant really argue it.
  18. My projected lineup: Hairston Corey Nomar Burnitz Lee Holla Neifi  Blanco  Prior Sounds about right. Prior might have the most power in the lower third of our order today :P It's a shame we've got the France Lineup going against Peavy during Prior's first start, you'd like to see him get some run support to start the year off, but who knows?
  19. Ehh, I dont care that Neifi is playing third for ARam today, we have to sit Ramirez sometime. I just hope that Neifi is batting in the bottom third of the order today, leaving him to hit second yesterday was just lazy.
  20. this thread has taken a turn for the hilarious first of all, the phrase DUSTY BUSTING is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. it's childish, stupid, and utterly ridiculous. any attempts to take any argument seriously with that phrase is impossible. with that out of the way, Neifi didn't do a bleeping thing today. he got a single and bunted corey over. the cubs lost 1-0. if you honestly believe that playing Perez over Hairston gave us a better chance to win today, you must be out of your mind. ZZ, your argument really is ridiculous. the fact that you mention players tiring is totally absurd. i mean... c'mon. Hairston has started one game this year. this injury to Walker is the reason we have Hairston on the team, and we just waste him on the bench. there is not one aspect of the game that Perez performs better then Hairston in. i mean, we lost 1-0. maybe hairston can hit a solo home run, or hit a gapper and get something going. sure, perez could do that too, but you can't possibly argue that perez is more likely to do one of those things then hairston. i have no problem with giving Baker credit for somethig he's done, because i have nothing to gain by not giving him credit. it's not like my opinion has any bearing on what the Cubs' management thinks, so i have nothing to gain from being dishonest. all i want is whatever's best for the cubs, because i want them to win. but here's my honest belief about Baker: he sucks. he's done some good things, but he's also done a bunch of horrible things, as we all can attest. the fact that Perez and Macias are even taking up two rosters spots in Hendry's fault, but in this situation, Hairston SHOULD BE PLAYING. argh. also, i would like to help you add to your list of people who are also more successful than me, have had better gals than me, and will likely go down in the history books for something, and i have no problem with it: Dusty Baker The Ultimate Warrior Ronald Reagan Steven Spielberg Jesus Roast the D--- Goat True story, I was talking about the Ultimate Warrior at work the other day, and some guy in there mentioned that he was dead. The guy sounded legit, like a real wrestling know-it-all (nerd) so I took his word for it. Until today, when I looked the Ultimate Warrior (or Warrior, as he now likes to be called apparently) and I discovered that he is an extreme right wing racist. Weird huh? yeah i read somethingawful today too. pretty funny stuff. Weirdly enough, the timing was entirely coincidental. I didnt even know he was suing SA until after I had looked him up.

  22. This thread isnt called "Neifi's bad hitting experience", so I think that is what were doing.
  23. I'd really call someone who thought stats were the answer to every situation, who didn't take into account circumstances and particulars, to be the dense one. So I guess we disagree then, my god, when did that start happening?
  24. I don't care if Neifi went 12 for 12 and hit an 8 run homer, putting him in over Hairston was stupid. I really dont see how you can defend this. That is the silliest thing I've read in a long time. It shows you just think stats are the end-all be-all. You really must think that because you have a book full of stats you are qualified to be a professional baseball manager. Your statement just defies basic understanding of the practicalities of a 162+ game baseball season - practically nobody plays 162 games a year, as the manager you have to decide when to pull the string on a bench player. What are your stats for that? Oh, you'd just play your best players 162 games a year, cuz there's no stat for 'tiredness'. Even in the hot Wrigley summers. Like the '69 Cubs. God, it's not as simple as you believe it to be. Sometimes Perez over Hairston is the right move. God, the arrogance of the stat worshippers.... Keep grasping at straws and making assumptions. If you seriously think that playing a person that is statistically worse than someone else is a good idea, if you really believe that, and you arent just being obtuse because arguing on the internet gives you a stiffy, well, I dont know what. Have fun talking to yourself for the next 155 games.
