I think they might do it simply because they're ridding themselves of Manny's salary. They've made it perfectly clear they'd get rid of the contract for nothing in return in the past. Let's say for the moment that Boston would, if given the chance, get rid of Manny, getting nothing in return, just to get out from his contract. If this is true, why would they want to trade him to us, taking on 13 million dollars from us in the process? Manny @ 20 million is better than Wood/Patterson/Murton @ 13 million
