  1. CANT TURN CLUTCH NOT A GOOD HITTER IN THE DOUBLE PLAY
  2. Out of 13 qualifying NL SS, Neifi is 10th in RC/G. Ahead of such luminaries as Royce Clayton, Jack Wilson and Cesar Izturis. And out of 23 qualifying MLB SS, he is 18th. Face it, he's garbage, whether he was signed as a backup or not, he sucks, and anyone who says otherwise has no idea what they're talking about. I'm not saying that it's necessarily possible that we could have gotten anyone better in the offseason, but that doesnt change the fact that he in fact, sucks.
  3. Why is that interesting? That means he's at the bottom of the barrell.
  4. I'm not "ignorant". I understand your statistics perfectly. I just don't care, actually. Not caring about pertinent statistics is pretty much the definition of ignorance, actually. I would have no problem saying that Carpenter deserved the Cy Young, if he actually did. I've been saying all year that I thought Pujols would deserve the MVP by the time the season ended, so you shouldnt act like I have some anti-Cardinal bias that is factoring into my decision. Nice Ninja Edit. If you want the Cy Young award to go to the "Pitcher who wins a bunch of games on a team that you root for", then it is a worthless award, and you should probably be circle jerking with fellow Cardinal fans somewhere else.
  5. How about this RC Cubs Burnitz-70 Hairston-43 Patterson-31 Hollandsworth-29 Murton-9 Dubois-19 Total-201 Tampa Bay Hollins-40 Sanchez-21 Gathright-18 Crawford-92 Huff-71 Gomes-48 Total-290
  6. Just to point it out further, according to WSAB (win shares above bench) Clemens-18 Willis-13 Oswalt-13 Carpenter-11 Zambrano-11 Smoltz-11
  7. I still don't see a difference. No one has been more valuable than Lee this season. Pujols has been close. The reason the Cardinals are going to the playoffs has more to do with the players around Pujols, hitters, fielders and pitchers. Put Lee on the Cardinals this season, and they would be even further ahead of the Cubs than they already are. Lee, despite the players around him sucking for the most part, has been more valuable than anyone else this season. The fact that we arent going to the playoffs has less to do with him and more to do with garbage he's surrounded with.
  8. No it isn't, not at all actually. You're still focusing your agument on wins, which are useless as a tool to look at pitcher performance. I wouldn't expect you to agree with this, as you've proven your statistical ignorance for the last 20 pages. Clemens has been a superior pitcher this season. This isn't taking anything away from Carpenter, who has had one of the better pitching seasons of the last 10 years. It's much like Pujols losing the MVP to Bonds the last few seasons, Pujols had incredible years, it was just too bad they had to coincide with Bonds seasons.
  9. There's a difference between ignoring 30 innings that haven't happened, and 3.1 innings that did.
  10. Sure, the Voters are going to give the award to Carpenter. They've proven that they look at wins as a determining factor before, and the fact is, Carpenter has more wins than Clemens, despite not pitching as well. You can come up with whatever weird arguments you want, (Carpenter not pitching in tight games, Carpenter pitching more innings etc...), but the fact is, Clemens has been a better pitcher this season. I don't see how anyone that isn't wearing incredibly bright red sunglasses couldn't see this. Now, does Clemens being the better pitcher mean he deserves to win the Cy Young? Yes. Does it mean that the voters will vote for him? No, look at previous years, it doesn't happen that way, but it should.
  11. Yeah, I'm no idiot, I realize this. But look at something like RC/G Lee 10.9 Pujols 9.7 Jones 6.3 There are 23 players in the NL that have a higher RC/G than Andruw. Aramis is one, Chase Utley is one, Juan Encarnacion is another. Win Shares Lee 32 Pujols 31 Jones 19 And that is with Fielding included. Hell, Jones isn't even the most valuable player on his team, the much maligned Rafael Furcal is, with 20 Win Shares.
  12. Hahaha I love that Andruw is now the co-leader with Pujols. I mean, HR's are nice, but let's be serious. Jones .272/.357/.593 Pujols .331/.424/.612 Lee .346/.428/.681 Lee leads both in EVERY CATEGORY.
  13. what an albino douchebag. i wish he wasnt such a good pitcher.
  14. Question for UK PR Clemens 58 Carpenter 48 RSAA Clemens 43 Carpenter 32 What is the point of RSAA if PR is basically a better version of it?
  15. But he hasn't WON AS MANY GAMES, I MEAN, ISNT THAT THE POINT OF SPORTS, TO WIN GAMES? I FEEL LIKE IM TAKING CRAZY PILLS AMIRITETHISTIME?
  16. I wish they would just call it the most outstanding player. Throwing the word "valuable" in there confuses all the idiot sports writers.
  17. IMB selects-Mike Vanderjagt K IND
  18. That's about half a season of rocking out in the leadoff spot. All I know is that Walker hits wherever he is, but Dusty is too stupid to put a slow white guy in the leadoff spot.
