  3. Sabathia led AL pitchers in VORP
  4. http://www.hawaiimovietour.com/collection/collectionL/goldblumL.jpg This is the worst idea in a the long, sad history of bad ideas.
  5. Good point about Fontenot. I don't think his name has even been brought up. After that good first month, he was just terrible the rest of the year. Maybe Infante is being brought in to fill Fontenot's role. I would have no problem with that at all. I would much rather see them spend $350,000 on Fontenot as the 6th IF than $2m on Infante. What if it's just 1.5 mil? I'd rather have someone who has a shot at being good, Fontenot, over a full season, would be the worst hitter in the league.

  7. I like this deal. Now we sign Fukudome for CF while Infante takes over Fontenot's spot. Hopefully this ends the Matsui speculation.
  8. God I hate Brian Westbrook. If I lose this week, it's his fault.
  9. To anyone watching the Rams/Saints game, did Steven Jackson get hurt again, or did they pull him because he's a bit gimpy still and they have a big lead? He got me no yards today, but I'll take the two scores.
  10. 34 points and none of them to Greg Jennings.

    Week 10

I hate having to root against AD and Romo, but so far so good. Wolfie has three guys going tomorrow night, so I won't know the outcome to my game for a while, which i HATE.
  12. After what happened against Nebraska, I can't imagine that Missouri doesn't kill K-State
  13. I wouldn't put OU over Texas Tech as a mismatch, not with our pass D and their offense.
  14. I just saw that. Mayo had 32, though.
  15. He really is a hell of a back. When get healthy, he totally changed OSU.
  16. Is there any doubt at this point that SS will be an open competition? I really think if they give Cedeno spring training at bats, he will blow Theriot out.
  17. I vote McFadden, Tebow, Dixon, in that order.
  18. Some guy posted it on baseball-fever's message board. When I was doing my research on my thesis paper about Cobb, Speaker, and Jackson in undergrad, I had to read on microfilm a good bit of those old sports columns and they are always hilarious. "the Yankees were as comfortable as a lamplighter in a gunpowder factory".... that's beyond outstanding. I really need to find a way to discover some of these.
  19. especially a reliever, for gods sake.
  20. omc, your signature is tremendous. where did you find that? i would kill to read some old baseball gamers.
  21. You guys realize that if Kansas wins out, they will beat OU, right? If they win the rest of their games, they're in, as long as LSU or Oregon lose a game.
  22. oh god, come on illinois plz plz plz
  23. Oh, I didnt read the part about Brandon Jacobs, I thought you needed two RBs and assumed that Fargas was a no brainer. I'd definitely go with Fargas first.
  24. I put Rose at the top, then Mayo and then Beasley, but that's probably because I've always been a guard guy. Beasley is sort of the same deal as Mayo, as far as having incredible talent, but sometimes a lack of drive. He should be the top freshman in the Big XII and I wouldn't be shocked to see him make second team all-conference. I like Beasley, Mayo, Rose, then Gordon based on pure talent. I honestly think Gordon will be the best player this year and at the next level, based on what I have heard about his work ethic and basketball knowledge. Also, you shouldn't be shocked if Beasley is 2nd team all Big XII. It would probably be a big disappointment if he's NOT. He has as good a shot as any (except for Rush and Augustin) to be the 1st team. I like Rush's game a lot (I really wanted him at OU, and at one point it looked like we had him) but he won't be full speed form that knee injury until December or January, and you never know how those type of things will effect a slasher until they get out on the court. But you're probably right about him being on the first team. I like Arthur at Kansas and Jones at A&M, but neither have a smidgen of the talent that Beasley does.
  25. Couldn't some of it be from fear of a future lawsuit? I know Coolbaugh didn't exactly get hit in the head, but if a coach dies from a linedrive, and mlb doesn't respond to it, what happens the next time someone gets beaned in the grill?
