    I think Pie will be a tick more patient, hit for a bit more power, but be nowhere near the base stealer of Crawford. He'll be a much better defender.

    This isn't an argument. At least it shouldn't be. It's sort of hypocritical that alcohol is legal and weed isn't (and I say this as a guy that has never smoked), but the fact is that it's illegal. Teams test for weed because they don't want their players breaking the law. Whether it should be against the law is a worthy debate, whether players should be tested for it while it's illegal isn't.

    I'm sure that Tampa, being the baseball hotbed that it is, scooped Chicago radio stations on such a big trade. I don't buy it.

    Manny has been a slightly better hitter over his career, but he's done it at a much less important defensive position. He's also almost 40 and on the downswing of his career. No way in hell is he a better hitter than ARod at this point in their careers, I'd like to see you try and defend that position.

    Good point about Fontenot. I don't think his name has even been brought up. After that good first month, he was just terrible the rest of the year. Maybe Infante is being brought in to fill Fontenot's role. I would have no problem with that at all. I would much rather see them spend $350,000 on Fontenot as the 6th IF than $2m on Infante. What if it's just 1.5 mil? I'd rather have someone who has a shot at being good, Fontenot, over a full season, would be the worst hitter in the league.

    I like this deal. Now we sign Fukudome for CF while Infante takes over Fontenot's spot. Hopefully this ends the Matsui speculation.
