  1. Gotta tap into a great football mind when you get the chance. Per Wikipedia "As of 2007, he is the quarterback coach and golf head coach for West Texas A&M University.[1]" West Texas' season must be over. Maybe he is auditioning for a new job. Update: Looks like they won their conference for the third year in a row and start their playoffs. Leaf's pupil threw for 3200 yards and 33 TD's this year. Like I said, West Texas A&M comes up here once every two years to play a team in our coverage area. They are really good, especially passing the ball, so Leaf must be doing something right.

  3. Ryan Leaf is an assistant coach at a college that plays a school in our coverage area, here. He came up to the pressbox post game one day, and all I could think about was how badly I wanted to yell "KNOCK IT OFF, ALRIGHT?"
  4. i think it's legit
  5. What a fascinating off season this is going to be Matsui? Seriously?
  6. As long as it gets him on death row, im happy
  7. Finally, San Fransiscans (San Franciscites?) can sleep at night.
  8. What in the world does this mean? If he's too good for the bench but not good enough to start, where does that leave him? You've really only got two options, you know
  9. Yes, thank god that barry bonds is off the streets.
  10. i hope they kill this monster
  11. And your post is any better? He just posted that because when I first posted it, I had just heard it on the radio and hadn't yet found a link. I edited later. Cut him some slack, he's got to eat Thanksgiving dinner through a straw. actually i just coped garwilly's "im a dick" post out of transactions from yesterday
  12. I love lamp. Seriously though, your point with this? To get credit for breaking the news? Well whoever has the actual news (to follow) will get that credit.
  13. Who the hell would take Rolen at this point? And what would you give up for him?

    The NBA thread

Lebron James is legit 37 points, 13 rebounds and 14 assists, one minute to go in overtime.
  15. I think Pie will be a tick more patient, hit for a bit more power, but be nowhere near the base stealer of Crawford. He'll be a much better defender.
  16. Here's some 2008 projections James J.Loney .302 /.359/.465 /.823 CHONE J.Loney .284/.347/.431/.778 James M.Kemp .322/.365/.508/.873 CHONE M.Kemp .289/.337/.467/.804
  17. That is hilarious. It must not have taken long for Boras to realize that no one was going to be able to go as high as the Yankees could.
  18. I'm more stoked about Gallagher's numbers
  19. LOL! :pig: How highly is he valued by the Pirates? i would imagine "not very"
  20. This isn't an argument. At least it shouldn't be. It's sort of hypocritical that alcohol is legal and weed isn't (and I say this as a guy that has never smoked), but the fact is that it's illegal. Teams test for weed because they don't want their players breaking the law. Whether it should be against the law is a worthy debate, whether players should be tested for it while it's illegal isn't.
  21. I'm sure that Tampa, being the baseball hotbed that it is, scooped Chicago radio stations on such a big trade. I don't buy it.
  22. Manny has been a slightly better hitter over his career, but he's done it at a much less important defensive position. He's also almost 40 and on the downswing of his career. No way in hell is he a better hitter than ARod at this point in their careers, I'd like to see you try and defend that position.
  23. I'm not taking sides in a Manny vs. Soriano debate (that's not what this thread is about anyway), but Manny isn't a 1.000 ops guy anymore.
