  1. Dude, you're taking this too personally. No one is saying "That bastard Theriot, not only is he terrible, but he's got a chokehold on the No. 1/No. 2 spots in the lineup!" When someone points out that it sucks that our worst hitter is going to get a ton of at-bats, they aren't blaming Theriot for that fact, they're just pointing it out. Take a breath.
  2. this really sucks for me because i bet my friend a million dollars that lee, ramirez and soriano wouldn't have four bad games all year.
  3. I can go along with that. I just think that Theriot is also completely worthless, and if we're looking at a worst case scenario of a 1.5 win difference, I'd like to roll the dice with Cedeno.
  4. Ouch. That cannot feel good. Ugh, I always get squeamish about knee injuries. Kneecap injuries sound painful. Never hurt my knee, but I cannot watch ankle injuries. I'm the same way. Sometimes I picture myself rolling my ankle and my body involuntarily jumps.
  5. That's out there. aramis' had a poor season when he was a full 365 days younger than cedeno. time to write ronny off aramis also cut his strikeout rate in half from his age 20 big league debut, and had a .700 OPS, not .610. i cant tell if you really don't think Cedeno could ever possibly be a decent option or if you just are sticking with an irrational point for the hell of it i like how it's an irrational point yet there have been very few examples provided of guys who completely sucked for a whole year at age 23 and turned into better than better than average big league players. it's also fun to bash points as being "irrational" without providing much evidence to support this. i don't think i'm the only person on this board who thinks cedeno will not be a good option, and i don't think that most of the people who are anti-cedeno feel that way because we are in love with ryan theriot's grit and hard work. Saying that you don't think that Cedeno will ever be average or above average or whatever isn't irrational. But saying that he will never be good and then using faulty examples is irrational. All he has to do to is be a better option than Ryan Theriot. That's it. And saying, "well look how good Jose Reyes was when he was 23" doesn't do anything to prove that he can't be a better option than Theriot. That being said, I don't care one way or the other whether or not it's Cedeno or Theriot in the starting lineup. I just have a problem with people claiming absolutes when they have no clue what they're talking about.

  8. Yup. Two games under .500. Time to jump. Are we not in a 2 game hole? Do we not have to get out of it to have a successful season? Point made. are you this irrational in real life or only about the cubs
  9. just curious how soriano is lazy and not a team player
  10. the better analogy would have been tyler and michael are both good looking guys tyler goes to a bar where all the guys are ugly, and scores a hot chick michael goes to a bar where all the guys are ballin, and scores a hotter chick who's the playa of the year
  11. i cant imagine any reason for someone to look at a count chocula costume in april
  12. his contract made me vomit poop out of my mouth
  13. This is ridiculous. No one is threatening to burn down Theriot's house or kidnap his family. He's bad at baseball, so people are admitting it. The negative hyperbole is no worse than the positive.
  14. it was sweet to have the last out be kendall, btw also good that kerry notched save no. 1, always nice to have an established guy back there
  15. you've got to be kidding me etc etc etc
  16. Fielder was so pissed when Kendall double-clutched.
  17. Why? He's a bad fielder, and a poor hitter, but he starts at one the most important defensive positions on the field and barring injury will likely get more PAs than anyone not named Soriano. What kind of reaction do you expect? I admit that a lot of the hate is overblown, but he's a bad player in every aspect of the game, it's absurd to expect people to not talk about how bad he is.
  18. Oh man, is this 2005 NL MVP Craig Counsell?
  19. Kendall is hilarious back there. They aren't even just weak throws, they're amateurish.
  20. What a surprise, another 3-1 count. Hey and a walk, fukuballa
  21. Dave Bush is awful. Gallardo cannot come back soon enough for them.
  22. There we go. Wish Felix would have made Bush throw him a strike.
  23. god bless you, fukudome how nice is it to see a cub consistently get in 3-ball counts?
  24. Hahahah. I'm going to laugh so hard when Braun doesn't OPS 1.400 against lefties this year but remains a -25 defender.
