This is ridiculous. No one is threatening to burn down Theriot's house or kidnap his family. He's bad at baseball, so people are admitting it. The negative hyperbole is no worse than the positive.

Why? He's a bad fielder, and a poor hitter, but he starts at one the most important defensive positions on the field and barring injury will likely get more PAs than anyone not named Soriano. What kind of reaction do you expect? I admit that a lot of the hate is overblown, but he's a bad player in every aspect of the game, it's absurd to expect people to not talk about how bad he is.

Oh, wow. That's awful. I saw him play in person for both UK and Louisville. That's really too bad. Hardly knew there were professional leagues in Africa. There are. Here's a great if somewhat disjointed anecdote from former Texas Longhorn Gabe Muoneke.
