what about ryan howard? hes still super young. he has the power,the average,rbi's,etc. the only downfall is that he k's too much. hes a bigger guy but if you were in an AL team he could be DH and be great protection for other batters and a huge run producer. same with prince fielder but i cannot tolerate that guy.

why dempster? he has been solid both starts.

how many pitches of hills have hit the dirt? start a tally. not that he will make it past the 1st.

what is hills deal? he is either totally on or not even in the game. this is obviously a "what the hell am i dong here?" moment. i really wish we had some consistancy.

He came in with a 3-run lead. You've got to let him get out on the mound and straighten himself out, and if you're not going to do it in three run games, when are you going to do it. Ah, I thought it was a 2 run lead, my mistake. Well hopefully the Cubs offense wakes up and can be up by 4+ so Howry can get things straightened out, because right now he is terrible. In general, you're right; the offense needs to start producing more. But in today's case, there's not much more they could have done. They scored 8 runs. Howry and Marquis should both be thankful. Speaking of, my main thought from today's game is that it sucks that our 9th best starter is in our rotation. i agree 100% that marquis should not be the 5 starter. not that my oppinion matters.

so far our 5-7 spots have been our strongest offensive point. aside from a few pitching errors i have been impressed with the starters so far. hill gave up some costly walks but its been mainly our defensive errors that are killing us. that and the fact that has been said already in which theriot,soriano and ramirez are not pulling their weight at the plate yet.
